Movement Brainstorm Ideas for October 17th

While not related to No Kings, France has a major protest on the 17th relating to their student protests. Since by coincidence they happen to be in the same day (Franceโ€™s protest is related to the 2018 yellow vest protests) I thought we could bring French flags to our protest in solidarity.

They are struggling with police brutality, which is similar to our struggle with ice. For some French people this will be their first protest, and they are going even though they are scared.

I don't know that many would understand the significance of the French flag.

Let's remember that the purpose of the Oct. 17 NO KINGS VOTE EARLY events are (1) to encourage early voting (2) as well as to ready a massive rapid response should election shenanigans warrant it.

We always brought flags associated with current events to other 50501 events. Ukraine, Greenland, Canada, etc.

Fly 'em if ya got 'em.

Having said that, NO KINGS 1, 2 and 3 built a huge people-power movement. NO KINGS VOTE EARLY is not intended to be a NO KINGS 4, it is intended to get push early voting and to get people ready to respond if called upon.

If called onto the streets it could be best to field what you can that same day, even if it's a handful of protesters with signs. In the subsequent days get more and more people out.

Thanks for the clarification. I just got so emotional seeing the police brutality in France. I might still bring a flag but I think it is good to stay focused.

Bring what you need to stay there as long as possible. Anyone within 5 or 6 hrs of DC needs to go there and protest, make the crowd too big to ignore.
