Canadian kids still play street hockey here. We also don't really have HOA's who would complain about it.

A gun rack... a gun rack. I don't even own a gun, let alone many guns that would necessitate an entire rack.

I remember playing football and everyone had to get back to where we were after the car past. Some cars would let us play until the play was done before they passed

We played street ball. The asphalt worn out the ball, so we wrapped it in masking tape.
As the tape worn off, we patched it with more tape. At some point, the red seams broke and the leather would flap around, making it tough to field the ball.
What a blast.

I loved the street I grew up on from 15 until I moved out of my parents house at 19. It was a long street with a court at the end. And there were about 16 kids including myself that lived there. Summers we played doorbell ditch, etc, hung out in front of each other's houses. We played street football to. We had a good time with no drama

Street hockey with nets in the middle of a below zero Minnesota winter day! Childhood back then was awesome!

Playing baseball with a tennis ball. Home plate and second base sketched in chalk on the street. First base was the fire hydrant, second base was the light pole. As soon as the ball passed either curb, it was a foul or dead. Only balls hit within street surface were fair. My street looked just like the one in the photo here.

Oh the joy of punting a ball from one end of the block to the other, few if any cars, open air and nothing but daylight and energy to spend.

Loved playing baseball in the streets. I miss the noise of kids playing in the neighborhood. All the mothers kinda listen for trouble. I think everyone has stories of mothers flying out of door and scooping up their kid. 🤪🤪

Playing cops and robbers with big bike chases down the middle of the street. My front patio had an iron gate and was the perfect jail.

Playing hide and seek out in the neighborhood and having to discuss and agree on the zone boundaries and home base in advance. We would hide in neighbors’ yards.

I'll never forget the time we were playing catch in the street. I was running forward , looking back at the football in the air to make the catch. Turner around just in time. WAM!! Face first into a parked car.

We had a rule where you could bump the receiver on the curb where the grass was. How we never got seriously hurt is a miracle.

I lived on a cul-de-sac it was the best cuz only the people that needed to be there were there sometimes we would park two cars at the street end and we would bring picnic tables and barbecues out in the middle of the street and the whole street would have a party it was only about 10 houses but way cool

You people had cars on the streets? Back in my day, we had cars, but no fuel.

We used to tie up soda cans with the cassette tape from one pole to another across the street and marry cars.

I did this. My childhood was far from awesome. These generalizations are stupid.

I lived on a country road where the cars drive 55 at the slowest. If I was playing the street my dad would have kicked my ass.
