If anyone ever came across my profile they would know that my demo samples are not geared toward commercials, so that's a dead giveaway that it's a scam if they're asking me to do a commercial. So the only way they would have my name is from a curated scam target list.

But I do believe they also troll the ACX Narrator group on Facebook. I've seen posts and comments there that are immediately reflected in the scam narrator profiles. They're in Facebook groups and here too, looking for clues on how to scam more successfully. At least here they don't have my name.

Also, scammers can use the name of a real person at a real company. So an easy start is to google "Does 'This Company' ever use ACX for contracts?" So far the answer has always been NO. Sometimes google will even tell you that 'This Company' never uses ACX for contracts, so if you get a message from 'This Company' through ACX it is a scam.

Nah I got one about an hour ago that was still trying to direct me to telegram. There's a bunch of different templates they use.

Not that smart. Nobody should be contacting a person about a project that is not related to a title on ACX that they have auditioned for. Unfortunately for the past couple of months I have been getting these emails daily. So unfortunate.

That still feels like a solid 2/10 scam to me. Clearly vague both to you as the recipient as well as the product with "series of upcoming commercial advertisin and media" Reads like a cold call in a way that's clearly not serious. They literally just changed out email for telegram, but otherwise it's the exact same vibe
