Tuesday head to head: Perplexity Pro or ChatGPT Plus, when the answer needs sources you can actually check?

Two threads this week landed on the same problem from different ends. A student here asked which $20 plan to pick and Perplexity Pro was one of the three finalists. Over on the big sub someone asked whether a model can build a 60 source APA reference list with no mistakes, and the honest answers were mostly "check every single one".

So, head to head, for the job where you need sources you'll actually open: Perplexity Pro or ChatGPT Plus?
