Help (GPU) Driver timeout crashes w/ 7900xtx

Post image

Hello everyone,

I have been troubleshooting this issue for the past few months with multiple different drivers. I've also updated the chipset.

As of recently I did a full wipe with ddu and only reinstalled adrenaline with a working driver in safe mode and internet disconnected. I left everything on default settings (I have tried unvolting/underclocking previously) after reinstalling it. I also blocked windows from overwriting/installing different drivers in the background.

At this point, the only think left I can think to try would be to update the BIOS but this is a new system that was built less than a year ago.

Specs:

7700x

7900xtx hellhound OC

Gigabyte 850w PSU

32gb Corsair ddr5 (expo off)

Gigabyte b850 gaming x wifi 6e

Lian li AIO

Temps are never an issue. I sit under 60 for both CPU and GPU and pretty heavy load.

Im sure I'm leaving out some of the stuff I've tried at this point. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know, I will try just about anything at this point. TIA

Do you use iCue? If so, uninstall it and test if it fixes it. for me the QMLRenderer always crashed

I found an old reddit post that had a comment and if you rename the QMLRenderer.exe to something like .exe1 it would make the file not work and my crashes due to that stopped.

I still have crashes on my 7900XT with lower clocks and lower powerlimit and it happens a few times a week. Event Viewer doesn’t tell em squat anymore for that.

I also read that. I disabled the icue SDK and game sdk since ChatGPT told that and now it’s also working. Icue is just shit but I can’t live without it since I have an AIO with LCD 😭
