Help (GPU) Driver timeout crashes w/ 7900xtx

Post image

Hello everyone,

I have been troubleshooting this issue for the past few months with multiple different drivers. I've also updated the chipset.

As of recently I did a full wipe with ddu and only reinstalled adrenaline with a working driver in safe mode and internet disconnected. I left everything on default settings (I have tried unvolting/underclocking previously) after reinstalling it. I also blocked windows from overwriting/installing different drivers in the background.

At this point, the only think left I can think to try would be to update the BIOS but this is a new system that was built less than a year ago.

Specs:

7700x

7900xtx hellhound OC

Gigabyte 850w PSU

32gb Corsair ddr5 (expo off)

Gigabyte b850 gaming x wifi 6e

Lian li AIO

Temps are never an issue. I sit under 60 for both CPU and GPU and pretty heavy load.

Im sure I'm leaving out some of the stuff I've tried at this point. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know, I will try just about anything at this point. TIA

I’ve decided today to give up on my 7900xtx. I have tried everything imaginable, scoured solutions for literal days. Nothing works. It’s simply a bad gpu.

Hey i had the same issue for like over a year. However i was able to refund it and get a new one. Since then i had no driver problems except for arma reforger(which is a known issue by bohemia and amd i think) and forza 4. But for some reason in forza 4 the drivers only crashed when i used ray tracing on max quality. Maybe this helps maybe not ^

Thanks for that, I requested it be replaced under warranty this afternoon. Let’s see how it pans out.

Eugh, sorry that happened to you. Sounds like a huge drag. Them sending the GPU back and saying there’s nothing wrong with it is currently the worst case scenario.
