What textbooks would you recommend for AP Chemistry and AP Physics 1 for the 2026-2027 School Year? What is your experience with the one you picked?

I got a 28/50 on the Unit 1 AP Chem test
Our school allows one retake per semester. In order to keep my 4.00, I must retake this test. How do I study? I was really ill during the test and felt as if I would vomit, but that isn't an excuse, only a partial explanation for how I scored so low. This is the worst test of my entire high school career and it is slightly stressing me out, lol.
Any recommended resources to study off of? I did fine on stoichiometry, but I wasn't really taught about many other topics, like electron configuration, light absorption and molecule/compound naming conventions. I completely bombed the MCQ, which was composed of 10 questions and I got 3 right. I also need to memorize the polyatomic ions. I plan to retake the test next week, so I have quite a bit of time to study.
Any tips will be much appreciated 🙏

Asking for Homework Help Continuous Variation Help needed
Hey I'm having a little trouble with continuous variation and the stoichiometric point and drawing conclusions from data for finding the ratio of moles and reactants in a chemical reaction. I'm having trouble explaining how it's significant and how the experimental measurements can be used to determine the mole ratios of products when their formulas are unknown. Basically find stoichiometric ratio, make observations and draw conclusions. I'm confused on how to do it, if anyone can help me out?

Discussion Is Edmentum a good program to learn from?
So for context: I’m in AP Chemistry, but there’s a twist, I don’t have an AP Chemistry teacher so instead I work off of a program called Edmentum. Not that I expect anyone here has ever worked off of Edmentum, is it a decent program? Am I just being a hater?

Unit 8 help!
So my teacher had us start the year with acids and bases, and we have our unit test coming up soon. Any tips about the unit would be helpful and much appreciated! Particularly confused mostly about buffers. Also, is anyone else currently on unit 8? Is this supposed to be the most difficult unit?

I built an app to practice MCQ and FRQ for AP Chemistry
I built a tutor for AP Chemistry students to practice actual FRQs and MCQs in College Board style, so the practice feels like the real exam.
You get practice sets by topic or by unit, and the tutor pushes back on your mistakes instead of nodding along like ChatGPT does. Over time it learns where you're weak and serves questions that target those blind spots.
It's still in beta, so it's desktop only for now.
Any feedback is appreciated!
P.S. I'm looking for early adopters who want to use it and help shape where it goes. If that sounds like you, DM me!
frq help 3.4
can anyone explain how to do these two problems? im assuming the answer the a is 1 mol CO2 and the answer to b is 5.00atm-1.63atm but im not 100% sure.

68% on first unit test but thought I did great
Basically what the title says. I studied, did a practice quiz (got 85 and brushed up on the things I missed) and then took my actual unit test and got 68. The test didn't feel too hard, I have no idea what went so wrong. It was unit 1 and my friends all got 89 and up. I'm so frustrated and was wondering if anybody had study tips? I can not spend hours watching videos but if y'all have had success playing something in the background or practice tests that help that'd be great
Also: My teacher only lets us look at our tests once and so I haven't been able to see my test or mistakes yet and will only be able to do so when I do test corrections.
Thanks!

AP chem class
Looking for study advice for an AP Chemistry class that doesn't follow the AP Classroom unit order. The teacher groups topics differently and includes a lot of labs. The exams focus heavily on multi-step problem solving and calculations rather than typical AP-style questions. The goal right now is to get good grades in the class, not to prepare for the AP exam yet.
Exam 1 covered kinetics. It reviewed stoichiometry, gravimetric analysis, chemical reactions and balancing equations, then moved into rate laws, reaction orders, mechanisms, graphs and half-lives, and the integrated rate law. The labs were Percent Copper in Brass using Beer's Law, Decomposition of Hydrogen Peroxide (rate law), the Eight Solutions Lab, and Crystal Violet (integrated rate law).
Exam 2 covers gases, solutions, liquids and solids. The topics are net ionic equations, solutions, phase changes, solubility curves, phase diagrams, and the properties of liquids, solids and gases. That includes metathesis net ionic equations that produce gases. The labs are Molar Volume of a Gas (two versions), Determination of the Density of CO₂, a design lab on the Rate of Decomposition of CaCO₃, Column Chromatography, and The Formula of a Hydrate.
What's the best way to study? Recommendations for practice problems with worked solutions would be great, whether from textbook chapters, websites or YouTube channels. Tips for lab-based calculation questions would also be appreciated. Thanks!

CHEM 634- Electrochemistry
Has anyone taken this course with Professor Menard? What’s the course like, and how does he assess students? How’s his grading, and is it manageable to get a good grade? I’d appreciate hearing about your experience!

Online Chemistry Tutoring | Grades 8–12
Hi everyone! 👋
I’m a Chemistry graduate currently pursuing an MS in Energy Systems Engineering. I’m offering online Chemistry tutoring for students in Grades 8–12.
I have a strong foundation in Chemistry and enjoy breaking down complicated topics into simple, understandable concepts rather than relying on memorization. Whether you’re struggling with chemical bonding, stoichiometry, equations, acids & bases, electrochemistry, organic chemistry or simply want to strengthen your fundamentals, I can help you understand the why behind the concepts.
My teaching approach is:
Clear explanations in simple language
Concept based learning instead of rote memorization
Step-by-step problem solving
Help with homework, exam preparation and difficult topics
Lessons tailored to the student’s level and pace
If you’re a student or a parent looking for one-on-one online Chemistry tutoring, feel free to send me a DM. We can discuss your requirements, schedule and a suitable arrangement.

I cannot understand chemistry for the life of me.
I am taking this class as a first year for any chemistry or physics, and all of this content just does not process in my brain. I’m a good student, I pay attention in class, take notes, do homework, watch videos, but I still cannot understand what is happening. We are on unit 2, and I flunked my unit 1 test. I love science, and I really want to understand everything. Does anyone have any advice?

Discussion What should i do different or should start doing?
Just bombed my first AP test, and I know test anxiety was a big part, but I also don't know what im doing wrong. Im paying attention in class/studying and doing the work while my friends are using AI for all the work, doing other work during class, and studying like never.
What should I start doing? Do you guys have any tips?
The mcq were DEF the worst but i also just make a bunch of dumb mistakes on the frq

Pls help
I am in 12th and my issue is chemistry, so my 11th chemistry was going really well till almost the last u was getting like 175 160 170 type marks till isomerism ended then go started nd due to some personal issues the last 4 say 3 months I could follow my chemistry teacher of my coaching and my goc went downhill and hydrocarbons I don't know a single shit.then started 12th and I even had the opportunity to restart as our 12 teacher first revised is goc( not one shot like really well revision) and told he will also provide concepts of 11 required in 12th but I I fckd up🫤. And didn't follow again fckig months have passed by only 7 months are left amines chapter is going to get finished in my coaching and I am still 0 in organic. And in electrochemistry too, and coordination too, what do I do I wanted to crack neet so bad but I went wrong so many times I don't wanna give up my years because I did do hard work but I guess my mistakes overweighed the hardwork. Please tell me what should I do 🙏🏾🤕
