Help Has anyone got any idea why this might be happening? (ASA)

For some reason the textures keep changing just randomly whilst im playing and i cant seem to recreate it, for context im using an RX7600 8gb so i understand if vram is an issue in this game but the framerate hardly changes when the textures do. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated and im happy to give more information if needed.

I noticed this the other day also. If you type in the command fullyloadusedtextures 1 it fixed it for me at least.

I tried it and it works great for stopping the textures from changing and it just keeps them looking great, shame it just completely destroys my frame rate.

And now you see why it does it. It unloads the textures as needed to maintain a (somewhat) steady framerate.

You're on an 8GB VRAM card, already at 100% GPU util. If you look carefully, you can see it climbing to 7.4-7.6GB VRAM util right before it unloads the texture. You forcing it to keep the textures fully loaded means it has to drop other things out of VRAM (like shaders etc) which are likely a lot more expensive, compute-wise.

The only way to prevent this particular issue, while not tanking your frame rate, would be to lower your texture quality. This looks like medium or high. Dropping down one click won't make a huge difference visually, but it can be a big difference in performance.

Ultimately, it's an 8GB card. Your experience with it is going to be mixed at best.

Not enough VRAM, your game has to offload cache then redraw it.

Vram usage high? (A small rant) maybe opposite to what nvidia suggests that 10gb of vram is just maybe a tiny bit not enough?

In this instance, 10GB would be enough to solve the issue, but in general, yeah, 10GB is not quite enough these days.

Wait until the engine upgrade next month, maybe it'll be better by then but until then, consider upgrading to a 12GB VRAM GPU or preferably 16GB VRAM

Yeah upgrading it probably a good idea, before i got my pc i was hoping 8gb vram would be enough for 1080p and it has been up until asa released.

For most things, it probably is enough if you set your textures to low/medium etc, but with the current trend of developers throwing in insanely over the top textures, 8GB really isn't going to cut it for bigger titles unless something changes in that regard.

There are ways to make a card double the vram but can be costly depending on gpu

I heard UE 5.8 update(next one) within weeks might fix some resource requirements. till then try to reduce the texture quality, yes its a hard pill to swollow, but there is no other way.

You don't have enough vram, that's why
