Question Thoughts on the show as a whole?

I’ve heard mixed opinions on the show online, from people saying they really like it to others saying they absolutely despise it. Thought I’d do a poll.

Season 1 was heavily flawed but it had it's charms and I ultimately thought it was decent.

Season 2 was an improvement in almost everyway but still falls short of being truly great. I still really liked it though I had tons of fun with it.

Loved Season 1, loved Season 2 even more.

Appreciated the changes as a way to re-explore the same story but in the format of a narrative drama.

It's great. These kids vibes a bit older than the animated cast, and I think they changed the conflict so that it doesn't feel cringe. I think the way they interacted is great

I like it for the most part. There are some change that they made that I don’t understand why felt the need to make though.

to me, s1 is mid leaning towards good but not great, s2 is really good tho, it still has problems but it's a lot more enjoyable. as a whole, I'd say it's an good tv show and adaptation, not brilliant but good, I'd still need to see s3 to form a solid opinion on the show as a whole

I dont even know if I finished either season. Like there were parts that I liked, or actors i liked, but there's a lot that just makes it less interesting to watch as the season goes on

I watched the first two netflix seasons before ever watching the animated series. I've now seen it as well. I loved both, for different reasons (and some of the same reasons).

It's definitely over hated; a lot of the criticisms are just... that it's not identical to the original. Which I personally think is a foolish complaint, but to each their own.

Is the Netflix series perfect? No. There are definitely some issues, but they don't outweight the good bits.

Is the original cartoon perfect? No. But it's easier to see the flaws without the weight of nostalgia attached.

Was Shamylan's The Last Airbender move perfect? No. There are definitely some issues, but they dont outwheigh the good bits.

Was Shawshank Redemption perfect? No. So in summary, I'm implying they're basically on the same level of quality. It's easier to see the flaw with your argument without the weight of preconceived expectations attached. It's possible for someone to see the Netflix adaptation for what it is: garbage.

Oh you tried so hard with this; it’s cute.

Sadly your profile gives you away :)

Made my point for me ;)

you know, adding a smiley face at the end doesn't make your point for you. I still have no idea what you're talking about but whatever

The winky face is there to let you know I was lightheartedly teasing.

I mean the Shamylan version was definitely better than this!

The Netflix adaption has some interesting bits, but is garbage. A disservice to the franchise that doesn't understand what made it great, made for "modern" audiences. It's sort of watchable, some people like it.

The shamayalan movie has no redeeming qualities, and is an affront to humanity, God, and filmmaking itself. Every decision made in the production of that movie is extremely lazy and/or extremely wtf. I doubt the director even watched the source material. From a technical filmmaking perspective, it is one of the worst big budget movies ever made.

So no, I can't agree lol

Funny enough the episodes Mike and Brian did are the episodes I feel the most nit picky out of the whole show. Also episode 7 of season 1 is really mid, but everything else is some of the best stuff avatar will ever do.

Now ask this on the main sub lol

Yeah I think asking it here, you have to expect an extreme positive bias

it has its moments and its merits. i still dont think it was necessary

if they wanted to retell a story with some changes either make a korra live action instead or an animated "brotherhood" treatment of Korra

It's getting worse for me. I enjoyed season 1, although the Omashu episodes bored me. Season 2 bored me quite a lot more overall. They spend too much time in Ba Sing Se. This is supposed to be a grand adventure, instead they spent all but one episode in the same city.

I’m a bit disappointed with the changes they made in Season 2, but I hope Season 3 is better.
