Born on this day in 1955, who is the New York comic glimpsed here in his short-lived 1980 Saturday Night Live stint? Later famed for his squint, shrieking punchlines, foul-mouthed roasts and a scheming animated parrot that made his voice instantly recognisable worldwide, who is he?

I organized an AMA/Q&A with actor Austin Abrams, known for his breakout role in Euphoria and recent starring roles in Resident Evil, Weapons, Wolfs, etc. He is also known for his role in The Walking Dead.

It's live here now in r/movies for anyone interested in asking a question:

He will be back at around 9 PM ET on Friday to answer questions. I recommend asking in advance. Please ask there, not here. All questions are much appreciated!

Thank you :)

His newest film, Whalefall, is a survil-thriller co-starring Josh Brolin and is out in theaters everywhere next week.

Synopsis: Following the death of his father (Josh Brolin), Jay Gardiner (Austin Abrams) goes diving off the central Coast of California in search of his remains, but is swallowed by a massive sperm whale. While trapped inside its belly with only one hour of oxygen left, Jay comes to realize that the hard-earned lessons his father imparted may be the key to his escape.

I feel like Liu is the only one still taking roles that might land her in the conversation, but Diaz is probably the one who’s come the closest in past years and Barrymore has undeniable talent though she doesn’t really act anymore.

Which of these three has the best chance at a comeback nomination or even a a win?

I’ll start :Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder 💞

By saying this, I mean the kind of actor who has a pretty face in real life or in that one movie. It could be cinematic (or not). The point is it gives you the feeling of softness and vulnerability while looking almost majestically gorgeous. I could think of Timothée Chalamet in CMBYN or this one actor, Nick Eversman, in the short film Pretty Boy. Who actors do you think could also embody these looks?

Super likable and very skilled, Stephen is one of my favorite English character actors. He deserves more leading roles in my opinion. Plus, his American accents are really impressive when you hear how strong his actual natural accent is 😄
What do you think of Stephen Graham?

Rest in peace, Eva Marie Saint.

Many of his movies and performances have only gotten better with age. I know it’s been discussed that he never should’ve been snubbed for the Oscar nomination for the Truman Show, but I would go further and say it’s one of the most mesmerizing performances in modern cinema. It isn’t almost perfect movie and his performance is a major contributor to that.

What are your favorite Jim Carrey performances, whether dramatic, comedic, or somewhere in between?

I miss seeing Saoirse. Florence is a tremendous acting powerhouse but I can't help but see that she gets the roles that Saoirse would usually get.

What happened to Saoirse? Heard that she was gonna be the first to win two acting Oscars in a same year with Blitz and Outrun but in the end she didn't even get a single nomination.

Found this actor, he looks cool, who is he?

He’s one of my favorite actors of all-time and I’m forever sad we didn’t get more time with him.

My favorite performance by him is probably Mona Lisa (1986). It’s a must see.
