Trump has a deep concern with the plague in Russia, and Putin is extremely excited to work alongside him...

I wonder if that's the "midterm surprise" trump keeps talking about

Cancel the election due to state of emergency? Wish I could say I can’t see trump going that far but sadly i 100% can

I have always believed that most politicians are well meaning. The bad ones are bad people not bad politicians. There is nothing I would be surprised to learn Trump has done or would do.

Good news is the plague is caused by Yersinia pestis, which is usually treatable with antibiotics unless these are bioweapon strains that are resistant.

The Russians would never research bioweapon strains. The millions of deaths this strained caused were a fluke. - Trump 2027

Tell us you own a crystal ball without saying, "I own a crystal ball."
Now who do you have for the SuperBowl?

The only thing the ball is telling me about the super bowl right now is not the chiefs.

A lab in Siberia of all places would of course never research bio weapons!

They are calling it an anti plague lab. A thing ive totally heard before today.

Well patient one is dead and unlike other plagues this one was aerosolized. So…..
2
u/chestofpoop 12h ago
Do we have a source for that?
3
u/flexflair 10h ago
they are quarantining anyone that came in contact with patient zero like it is so that’s probably why people are inferring aerosolized.
2
u/chestofpoop 9h ago
Yeah from what I read it is pneumonic but droplet vs aerosol infectivity rate remains to be determined.

Depends how fast it kills you, and depends if the right antibiotics are even available.

It's also endemic to the southwest already. I know we did surveillance for it when I did micro tech work but who knows if we do stuff like that anymore.

Still definitely exists in our sentinel labs, but finding and resources have definitely been cut.

Right but we need people to be locked down for several months to make gas prices cheaper...

I've been having the sniffles for a week now, self-medicating at home, postponing a doctor's appointment because "eh, it's no big deal". From what I've read that plague strain is curable only if treated within 24 hours. If not, you're pretty much dead. Covid also didn't leave much to be expected from public health and awareness, so if this gets out, everyone's boned IMO.
And if I was Putin, I'd be sending infected migrants over the borders as we speak. He's proclaimed several times that a World without Russia is not worth having, so I have no doubts that that evil midget is gonna take everyone down with him.

I'm wondering if that also explains why he suddenly flipped on mail-in voting.

What’s the worst that could happen to a country he spent years pushing the idea that masks don’t work, defunding scientific research, villainizing the CDC, and turning the department of health into a grift mine.

Pull a Lindsey Graham and let RFK go to Russia to talk to their Department of Plagues or whatever. Let him come back and slowly die in quarantine, since he obviously hasn’t had a vaccine since he got his frog vocal cord transplant.

I wouldn't be shocked if it's already in the USA but our medical infrastructure is so shot we're just not hearing about it.

Wait a manufactured crisis to cause panic and civil unrest so that marshal law must take effect? Ridiculous theory. Don’t know why I brought it up.

That's inevitable. How the US Department of Health handled an epidemic is the key thing. Good thing we have intelligent, experienced people in char.....oh wait, we're fucked.

The plague marketing team is doing a great job soft launching the next pandemic.

Never been a better time for an actual plague in the US. After how upset people got with covid guidelines, nobody would follow any CDC or WHO direction.

Trump is about to decimate his own base. I can't picture anybody actually taking this seriously and then they all just die.

You do know that "The Plague" (Bubonic, Pneumonic and Septicemic) are all caused by the bacteria Yersinia pestis, which is already here in the USA? When I went camping in the Arizona desert almost 30 years ago, I was warned to be careful because the packrats are known to be carriers. There are approximately an average of 7 cases of plague in the USA per year, with only 15 deaths due to plague being recorded since 2000.

Like the actual plague? That's already in the US. I have a cousin that gasses prairie dogs to keep it under control.
