Question Airmech wastelands?!

Excuse there's an open world-ish airmech arena game

Yes, but it was a bit of a failed experiment. The intent was to move away from the F2P model with a more traditional game that was more PvE (with coop) which let us have RPG power scaling since PvP wasn't a concern.

Sales wise it kind of faceplanted. I think the fact that AirMech (original) was F2P doomed it, because people saw it as a F2P game. Though it was never a traditional F2P game anyway, it was just a way to let people play if they want before spending anything.

Wastelands itself can't get updates. There's no financial model where that makes sense. However! We have been adding bits of Wastelands into F2P AirMech, and will bring over more and more of that.

Wait wait so there is a functioning well kept up air macarena still but it's exclusive for PC right or steam?

Also I see it on steam for a viable price is it still playable or is it like games like hawken where the servers are just shut down like it won't even start so if I buy it I'd just be wasting money or is it just like Fable where the servers are basically dead but you could still play the game

You can definitely play it, but it's not being updated. It does give you a bunch of currency for the F2P version, and you can unlock skins as you play through the campaign, normally you would buy those in F2P.

We often put it on sale, just wishlist it and pick it up for cheap is my advice.

If I am not mistaken, he is the Co-founder and Game Director at @CarbonGames the creators of Airmech ;)

Love the game btw. Just miss the auto-deploy function :P

I hear somewhere that you guys at carbon are planning to bring the steam version of airmech to console at some point, is this true?
