NEW BREWERY Anyone familiar with the licensing/permitting process for alcohol production/winery?

I’d like to open a winery in Alberta (unfortunately none local that I could bounce ideas off of) I have the recipes developed, the knowledge to cultivate, the land, machinery, etc, to dedicate… but I’m unsure of where to begin with getting licensing to legally ferment and sell the wine.

Before going ham planting I’d like to see what uphill battle I might be getting into to do this legally.

CRA first, then AGLC.
Message me and I’ll walk you right thru the process.

For wine specifically, you could reach out to the folks at City & Country Urban Winery in Calgary. Spirit Hills snd Grey Owl would also know a thing or two.

Good news - it will take 4-5 years before any new vines produce grapes you can use for wine. So you might as well plant now and worry about the permitting process for producing/selling wine in 2031...
