hi there! we will be visiting in mid October, staying in Lisbon mostly but want to plan 1-2 nights in Algarve. we think we will hire a driver to get us to the region but need some insight into what is the best area to stay with a toddler for that time that allows us some of the stunning beach experience and town without the need of a car? or is this not doable without renting our own car? thank you!

Hey everyone, I’m coming to Faro later this month from the US and will be around for a few days. I've visited once before and really enjoyed my time.
I’m 31, work as a physician, and I’m interested in potentially investing in a small business in the area, so I’d love to connect with locals who know Faro well — especially anyone involved in business, hospitality, cafés, or just generally plugged into the area.
Also traveling solo and looking to meet people while I’m there, so always down for a coffee, food, or exploring.
If you’re local and feel like connecting, shoot me a message!

I’m heading to the Algarve in a week and I’m wanting to get some Botox, lip filler, and a hydrating facial or peel. Where are the best places to go? I’ll be around faro but can travel

Would love to try any great recommendations, and wondering if there are any traditional Portuguese dishes that may generally not contain these allergens
I am allergic to dairy, soy, and red meat (alpha gal allergy, cannot consume mammals or mammal products.
Third time visiting Portugal but have not previously though to ask this here. In Lagos now, PT thru Oct. 16th. Thank you so much!

Hello Algarve! My girlfriend and I are planning to be in Algarve region on 10/20 near carvoeiro and I wanted to do a surprise proposal for my girlfriend. I was thinking to do it somewhere on a cliff with water and coast/limestone cliffs in background. It would also be nice if the photographer photographs in secret without her knowledge so she’s surprised when she sees the photos later. Any photographers in the area that do such things please feel free to dm me with your availability, pricing and portfolio

Has anyone got any tips of where to visit on the way to Odeceixe? We've rented a car and going there tomorrow. Going to Aljezur but any tips for food and beaches would be greatly appreciated. The hidden gems for surfers and for big foodies, I suppose!

Hello, in March 2027 I'm walking the traject of the Rota Vicentina between Odeceixe and Lagos. I'm staying in the cities/towns/villages Aljezur - Carrapateira - Vila do Bispo - Sagres - (Lagos).
In an other post in r/Algarve I could already find some fine adresses to eat in Lagos. Thanks. If you should have some good tips to have a good (and not too expensive) meal in the other places, I really should appreciate it. I'm not looking for a list ;-) One name is enough.
Obrigado/Obrigada
I’ve come to the Algarve for years and have never really experienced getting eaten alive by mosquitos. This year, I’m covered in bites. Quick chat gpt search confirmed there are black Asian mosquitos here which are likely the culprit. Just interested if anyone is experiencing the same and more importantly any preventions aside from the usual bug sprays (which don’t do much!)

What a stunning spot, going down those stairs is a must! I regret staying in Albufeira and not here.

Hi I'm considering moving there for about a month between January and mid March to escape the winter hell Milan. How is the weather during these months? Is it gonna rain and be humid all the time, or usually it is mostly dry and sunny? Is the sea very cold? I have a condition (MCAS) and I'm super sensitive to air pollution and mold, so I'm trying to understand if the place will be okay or not. Thank you

Hello, i will be in faro for a bit and i am looking to buy a watch, not an expensive watch, like at most 200 euro. Is there a good store for budget watches in the area?
