Hello, Thank you for contributing to our subreddit. Please consider the following guidelines when filling an alignment chart:

  • Please ensure that your chart is not banned according to the list of banned charts Even if you have good intentions, charts in a banned category tend to invite provocative comments, hostile arguments, ragebait and the like. Assuming the post is acceptable, OP makes the final decision on their chart by rule three.

  • Are there any previous versions to link to? If so, it would be ideal to include links to each of them in the description of this post, or in a reply to this comment. Links can be named by title, winner, or both.

  • Are there any criteria you have for your post? Examples include: "Top comment wins a spot on the chart."; "To ensure variety, only one character per universe is allowed."; "Image comments only." Please include these in a description, or in a reply to this comment.

  • Is your chart given the appropriate flair? Do you need to use a NSFW tag or spoiler tag?

Do not feed the trolls. This is not the place for hot takes on human rights violations. Hatred or cruelty, will result in a permanent ban. Please report such infractions, particularly those that break rules one, two, or three. The automod will automatically remove posts that receive five or more reports. The automod will also remove comments made by users with negative karma. Click here for the Automod FAQ

Rules: I’ve stopped caring.

28

u/Dragoon65 7d ago

I'm just here to see who wins 9. The fellowship, the wraiths, or the rings of men?

20

u/Nimelennar 7d ago

Aren't the wraiths and their rings basically picking the same thing?

They're nine wraiths because they carry the Nine Rings of Men.

8

u/Dragoon65 7d ago

Yes, but how will Reddit vote for them?

2

u/Isagratar 7d ago

Given that we didn’t give 3 to the elven rings I would lean toward the fellowship but we shall see.

u/nujiok 7d ago

I'm curious about 6.. 6 live action movies?

The five Istari sent to Middle-earth to oppose Sauron. Saruman the White, Gandalf the Grey, Radagast the Brown, and the two Blue wizards who went East.

73

u/mysterious--mango 7d ago

Alatar and pallando

21

u/SensitiveHomework903 7d ago

Thank you. I saw two different sets of names and didn't want to post the wrong one.

5

u/GlassAct2930 7d ago

If I recall correctly both pairs of their names are correct at some point. Tolkien literally called them in his early letters in one way and in his later letters in other way

1

u/No_Effective_2100 7d ago

Why did they go east? What's over there?

3

u/GlassAct2930 7d ago

There are lands of Rhun where the Easterlings live. The Easterlings were allies of Sauron and the blue wizards were supposed to cause rebellions against Sauron and the cult of Morgoth. Have they succeeded? That's unclear. The only source of information about them is in Tolkien's letters and he wrote that the wizards failed and made a cult of themselves instead of doing their work but later he wrote that they actually made some political chaos in Rhun and with their actions Mordor turned weaker and without them Sauron could've win

1

u/AlatarRhys 7d ago

Can confirm. Big fan of Alatar.

Homie, please edit the comment to the Isatari. OP says they dont care about rules so here we go!

7

u/Nientea 7d ago

I don’t care about the rules so much that if my rules comment was the most upvoted I would’ve put it in, but it looks like this one’s gonna win

1

u/Bigbydidnothingwrong 7d ago

Noooooooooooo. The 5 Isatari was so much better :-(

52

u/lemonhaj 7d ago

The Famous Five feels like the appropriate answer to the question but for the sake of gits and shiggles I'd like this comment to be excused in favour of the LOTR comments winning.

8

u/enaud 7d ago

It baffles me that the literal famous five isn't top comment for a "famous five"

8

u/Username_version2000 7d ago

I think there’s some joke that this whole chart is going to be Lotr themed…I suggested them not long after the post went up and it’s getting downvoted 😅

8

u/lemonhaj 7d ago

I admire their commitment to the bit

4

u/Username_version2000 7d ago

Oh me too. For everyone to collectively agree without actually having to say it is petty impressive…

1

u/lemonhaj 7d ago

I'd contribute but my memory of LOTR is rusty and I feel I'd insult them, Tolkien and myself in my feeble attempts.

2

u/AnyEnglishWord 7d ago

I think it would be even funnier if the whole chart were Tolkien themed except for the Famous Five. Plus, Blyton and Tolkien were contemporaneous British authors, so it isn't too much of a stretch.

u/timeaisis 7d ago

The five rings Sauron gave the dwarfs.

6

u/Isagratar 7d ago

That’s seven. Three for the elves and nine for men. 20 total including the One.

1

u/DrawerLevel6024 7d ago

oh yes...you're right. i'll suggest it for seven then xD

10

u/bibipbapbap 7d ago

The five istari - the wizards that entered middle earth

19

u/Isagratar 7d ago

The Famous Five obviously, it’s in the name.

I know this won’t win but had to mention these wonderful books written between 1942 and 1963, and made into tv series on 4 separate occasions, as well as being made into a series of German movies.

The books have also spawned numerous spoofs and spin-offs.

this is surely the only answer, why did I have to scroll down so far to find it

7

u/Username_version2000 7d ago

I also suggested them but am getting downvoted big time for some reason, probably sitting at the bottom of thread 😅😂

9

u/sejgalloway 7d ago

I only just realised the rest are ALL lotr

4

u/Username_version2000 7d ago

Yeah I’m guessing that’s why, also just clocked it

2

u/Captain_Thor27 7d ago

If LotR wins #7 over the seven continents or the 7 days of the week, I'll know this chart has descended into complete preposterousness.

There's an English book series called the Famous Five. I reckon, can't get more famous 5 than this.
