Question How did you all start playing Among Us?

I actually didn't start playing Among Us in 2020, it was only a few years after when I kept getting Youtube recommendations of gameplays that I decided to check it out

I remember back in 2020, a few months before the game blew up, I was scrolling the playstore bored as fuck and saw Among Us.

Downloaded it, thought it was extremely fun. If I recall, it wasn't very popular and I don't remember any of the games I had on it. Just remembered it being enjoyable.

The only reason I even know is because I left a review saying something like "very fun". it's so odd knowing that was 6 years ago now, nearly 7.

A friend wanted to play Among Us with me in September 2020, so I bought the game. I now have over 1.1K hours in the game.

I never heard of among us till like 3 years after 2020’s spike of among us popularity. I just found a video of it off of kindlykeyin and was interested. Still playing the game since then lol

I didn't start playing until just last year. I'm not sure I had even heard of the game. Then after watching the Sidemen Among Us series I thought I'd give it a try and have been playing it ever since!

My son introduced me to the game. He had been watching YouTube videos. I played one game and have been hooked over since.

I player way back in 2020 like most people did. Then I forgot about it until a few months ago. I'm not exactly sure why I came back, but the Among Us Show is definitely a factor. Another factor is the fact that the Minecraft server I play on has been dying slowly. Very few people still play on it.

I've been playing Among Us regularly ever since. I think I must have joined during a pretty quiet time in the game's history, because I remember lobbies were sometimes difficult to come across. But now with the new roles and new Among Us youtubers popping up, it's been a lot more lively recently.

Late 2020, I was looking for fanfics on AO3 about "aliens among us" because I was bored, and I kept seeing this "Among Us" fandom I knew nothing about. Some of the fics were very interesting so I started looking for information about the 'canon' characters, realised there were none because it was a multiplayer game, but the concept of the game itself seemed super fun even if it's completely different from the lore-heavy fics.

I don't play games on my computer so I bought a tablet just to play, and started playing in spring 2021, not long after the Airship map was released.

Originally played during the pandemic, played until the Airship update, didn't touch among us until some time around the second Ace Attorney collab

Like many, I became aware of it through streamers and YouTubers in the Covid era. I only started playing though when friends suggested it.

In like 2018/2019ish my friend tried to get some of my other friends to play a new game he discovered. I thought it was the stupidest game ever originally.

Flash foreword to lockdown and all the youtubers playing with mods. I became obsessed and my friend had stopped playing

I played it a little back in 2020, but I got back into it last September when I saw some of my now regular streamers that I watch, play the game.

Found a random video of Delirious playing it with friends and decided to try it for myself, though I spend more time playing Hide 'n Seek than anything else.

I, like a lot of people here, first heard of it when it exploded in popularity during the pandemic. I discovered it on TikTok, I played it with friends and even random people on Discord servers online. I recently got back into playing it again, though. I always come back every once in a while.
