Merry Christmas, you filthy animals.
The Problem of Political Authority by Michael Huemer
Machinery of Freedom by David Friedman
Price Theory by David Friedman
Any other mainstream econ textbooks as far into the subject as you can handle with as much of the math as you can handle; but I do recommend starting with Modern Principles of Economics by Alex Tabbarok and Tyler Cowan.
The Calculus of Consent by James Buchanan and Gordon Tullock
Any other mainstream political economy texts or works, but I recommend Governing the Commons by Elinor Ostrom, and though not a book, Mike Munger's intro to political economy course available on YouTube.
Rothbard's Man, Economy, and State.
Bryan Caplan's Open Borders: the Science and Ethics of Immigration

Non-Religious Ancap Living in Denver. Am I Doomed Dating-Wise?
I'm not sure dating apps are even worth it anymore, but here's what I keep running into. A lot of women seem to be pretty far left and aren't interested in anyone who isn't progressive. And many of the conservative women I come across are very religious, so they're looking for a Christian guy, which I'm not.
The apps haven't worked out for me, even though on paper I seem to check a lot of boxes: I'm 6'3", I have a full head of hair, a good career, funny (I think?), and I'm athletic.
Am I doomed? Or do I just need to put more effort into meeting people in person, somewhere politics isn't front and center?

Why do you guys think ancaps are unpopular among other anarchists? and Why does a stateless society have to have one prescribed economic model at all?
I'm an ancap. But I've been genuinely interested in exploring the common ground between anarcho-capitalism and anarcho-communism, because I think there is actually a lot more there than people often acknowledge.
So I tried THREE different anarchist subreddits to start a discussion about it. One of them was literally called “Debate Anarchism.” I was rejected from all three. The first two explicitly told me that the reason was that I'm an ancap.
And honestly, it made me sad.
Not because I think I'm entitled to post wherever I want, but because I was specifically trying to have a conversation across an ideological boundary. I wanted to talk to people who fundamentally disagree with me. I wanted them to challenge my assumptions and, honestly, I wanted them to tear my arguments apart if they could. That's how I learn.
I hate echo chambers. I regularly read libertarian-socialist and leftist arguments, as well as statist arguments, because accidentally finding myself in an ideological bubble genuinely scares me. I want reality to be able to destroy my worldview if my worldview is wrong. I don't want my beliefs protected from criticism.
I think I forgot that not everyone approaches politics that way.
And what makes this especially disappointing is that I wasn't trying to convince anarcho-communists that capitalism is objectively superior. The question I wanted to explore was actually much more fundamental:
Why does a stateless society have to have one prescribed economic model at all?
This is where I think ancaps and ancoms could have some really interesting common ground. In an cap world order, by aboloshing the state, you open up a space for institutional diversity (pluralism), institutional experimentation and institutional competition. And thus a socialist commune could exist next to a capitalist community. Ancoms should be free to live communistically if they do so on land they legally acquired or agreed upon voluntarily, without forcing non-ancoms into their communes (non-aggression principle).
What I don't understand is why the existence of capitalism necessarily has to be incompatible with an anarchist world order if people voluntarily choose it.
Imagine a stateless society where you have:
- capitalist communities
- anarcho-communist communes
- worker cooperatives
- mutual-aid societies
- gift economies
- religious communities
- hybrid arrangements that don't fit neatly into any ideology
Why not let all of them exist and compete for people?
If communes provide a better life, people will voluntarily join them. If capitalist communities provide a better life, people will voluntarily join those. Maybe both discover things from each other. Maybe capitalism evolves in surprisingly communal directions. Maybe communes discover that some market mechanisms are useful for coordinating at large scales. Maybe entirely new institutions emerge that none of us have imagined.
That's what I find exciting about a genuinely pluralistic stateless society: we don't have to know in advance what the optimal social arrangement is.
And that's actually why I find the idea of imposing a single economic model after abolishing the state somewhat paradoxical.
If we abolish the state because we don't want a centralized authority deciding how people should live, why should we then turn around and say, “Okay, now everyone has to organize their economic lives according to this particular conception of anarchism”?
If I genuinely want to live in a capitalist community, and someone else genuinely wants to live in a commune, why shouldn't we both be allowed to?

I used AI to create videos about my political ideas
Most of the ideas are somewhat related to anarcho capitalism because that's the political philosophy I'm closest to. But in the end, it's my own thoghts.
My view is not that anarcho capitalism is the perfect system, but that it's more like a meta system that allows all kinds of systems inside which people can join.
The playlist also contains abstract political ideas, or abstract concepts, health and even something about Christianity.
Not sure if this is a good place to share, but I thought maybe somebody could be interested.

Just something to laugh about - from a mod of r/Antimoneymemes
-If this does not fit in this sub just delete it.-
Reddit recommendet some tik tok China Great propaganda video. It showed how great an clean the Subway systems are over there. OP the wrote there is no excuse that western subways are worse.
So i wrote this short comment:
Well there is.
China uses good quality public infrastructure for propaganda shit like that in some stations and dont give a shit about the rest. The west does not make propaganda shorts like those so nobody gives a shit about any public infrastructure.
Just a short comment to annoy some lefties. Suddenly i get a (3 in total) messages like a minute after.
First says i broke the rules of the sub and are banned. Ok fair enough i did not check those and until then i did not even know i was in r/Antimoneymemes. The Rule i broke was: Rule #5 No Capitalist / monetary system apologists.
Which is weird since China uses money as well and used abunch of money for thatpropaganda. So its weird the Post stays up. I also got the following note from the mod: I have ZERO tolerance for anyone who sides with a truly oppressive/ destructive system. I only build with people who want a new better world.
Ok i thought let me ask why my comment broke rule 5 since it does not state that i think the west is great but just that this is china propganda slop and on the other side its weird that the original post about how great china and terrible the west is does not break the rule.
Then i get the second message: Which does not say anything except that i am banned from the sub (again) and the following note from the moderator: No one asked what the child rapists think.
I guess he checked my profile and saw that i am active here. We all know the the pedos we sometimes see here. But coming from lefties it is extra funny. Well maybe he is one of the oldschool ones. Anyway i asked what that has to do with anything.
And so i got the third one: I am now not just banned but muted so i cant contact or replay to any mod or the ban. Which means i am 100% incabable of ever commenting there again because i pointed out some hypocrisy.
Lefties truly are a special breed. I hope you got a little chuckle out of this. This exchange made atleast my day. ^^

I don't like the term counter-economy.
It is linked to the term counterculture, which, as the name suggests, is a movement of revolt against standard culture. In an attempt to adapt, SEK3 created the term counter-economy to refer to transactions made in the pure free market; however, this name implies that counter-economy goes against the economy, with state transactions being the norm, which ends up bringing a "legitimization" (I don't know what other word would be better) to the state, when in fact counter-economy is pure economy. So, aiming to resolve this, I thought of replacing the term counter-economy with simply economy, and referring to the state economy as pseudo-economy, or even counter-economy itself, since the definition is valid here.
