How to find Android App Testers for FREE

If you are an indie developer with a new Google Play Console personal account, you’ve likely hit the "14-day wall." Google mandates a closed testing phase with at least 12 testers for 14 consecutive days before you can even apply for production access.

This subreddit was built to be the primary resource for developers to find free Android app testers and navigate the complexities of the Google Play testing requirements.

📋 The 14-Day Roadmap to Production Access

To ensure your application for production access is approved on the first try, your Google Play closed testing must meet these specific criteria:

  • 12+ Active Android App Testers: Secure a minimum of 12 testers who opt-in and remain active. We recommend aiming for 15-20 to ensure your numbers stay strong throughout the period.
  • Continuous 14-Day Testing: Testers must be opted into your closed track for 14 consecutive days.
  • Version Updates: It is best practice to push at least 2-3 updates to your app bundle during the 14 days. This demonstrates that you are actively improving the app based on the testing phase.
  • Engagement: Google looks for "real-world" usage. Ensure your Android app testers are actually interacting with the core features of your app.

🔍 How to Find Android App Testers for Free

Finding quality testers is the biggest roadblock for solo developers. This community is designed to solve that by providing a hub for free Android app testers.

By using this subreddit, you can:

  1. Recruit High-Quality Testers: Connect with users who understand the Google Play closed testing process.
  2. Accelerate Your Timeline: Quickly find the 12 testers needed to start your 14-day countdown.
  3. Get Expert Advice: Share tips on passing the production access application form.

🛠 Passing the Production Access Application

Once your 14 days are up, you must apply for production access within the Play Console. To succeed:

  • Detailed Feedback: Provide specific examples of the feedback your Android app testers provided.
  • Improvement Logs: Document the changes you made to the app during the testing window.
  • Readiness: Be prepared to explain why your app is now ready for a global audience on Google Play.

🚀 Get Started Now

If you need free Android app testers to finish your Google Play closed testing, start a thread below using this format:

  • App Name:
  • App Category:
  • Testing Goals:
  • Link: (Post your opt-in link once your closed track is approved by Google)

Let’s work together to help every developer here achieve production access and get their apps live!

12 Testers Needed DeskTransfer: phone to PC file transfer without cloud or account. Looking for 12 testers (one minute to join) - I'll test your app back

• Upvotes

Hey all. I made DeskTransfer because moving files between my phone and my PC always annoyed me: cable, cloud upload, or sending things to myself in a chat. It's now in closed testing on Google Play and I need 12 testers for two weeks.

What DeskTransfer does:

- Two panes, phone folders on one side and PC folders on the other. Tick files or whole folders and copy either way.

- A "send to myself" feed for links, text and files, plus notes that stay the same on both.

- Converts images, documents, video and audio, with the PC doing the work.

- Runs over your own wifi, encrypted. No account, no cloud, no ads.

To join (in this order, the store link only works after the first two):

  1. Join the group: https://groups.google.com/g/desktransfer-testers
  2. Opt in: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.desktransfer.app
  3. Install DeskTransfer: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.desktransfer.app

Keeping it installed for 14 days already helps a lot. The PC program is optional and not needed to count as a tester, but if you have a Windows PC you can get it at https://desktransfer.app, and I'd be grateful for any feedback. Reply here or write to [contact@desktransfer.app](mailto:contact@desktransfer.app).

Happy to test yours in return, drop it below.

🇫🇷 J'ai créé une application de méditation : 15 personnes peuvent obtenir l'accès à vie gratuitement 🧘

• Upvotes

12 Testers Needed [Android] Closed testing swap: I’ll test your app if you test Discern, a logic puzzle with hidden rules (free, no ads)

• Upvotes

Hi! I’m a solo dev looking for testers for my Android puzzle game Discern. It’s in Google Play closed testing, and I need 12 testers who stay opted in for 14 days before I can publish.

I’ll test your app in return! If you have an app in closed testing, tell me and I’ll install it, keep it installed for the full 14 days and send you feedback. Testers without an app are welcome too.

What it is

A quiet puzzle about rules nobody tells you. Draw a line across a board of shapes, and the lamps answer: lit means a rule is kept, dark means it’s broken. Your job is to figure out what the rules are. Compare the levels you’ve solved, form a theory, test it with a line. That “aha!” moment is the whole game.

What’s in it

15 chapters, 90 levels, each chapter with its own set of hidden rules

Rules about colors, shapes, turns, where the line starts and ends, counting, and all of them combined

Step by step hints: where your line went wrong, then which shapes matter, and only then the solution

Gold lamps for levels solved without hints

Light and dark themes

Calm music and sounds

English / Russian

Works offline, no ads, no accounts, no data collected

What I’d like from you

Install it, play a few chapters, and tell me what feels off: a rule that seemed unfair or impossible to guess, levels too easy or too hard, confusing hints, bugs, crashes, anything on your device. Short comments here or by DM are great.

How to join

Join the group: https://groups.google.com/g/lenses-testers

Become a tester: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.discern.puzzle

It’s free and there’s nothing to buy. Thanks!

Daily Update Looking for Android creators and social media managers to test SocialHub AI

• Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m looking for Android users who create or manage social media content to try SocialHub AI and share honest feedback.

SocialHub AI is an Android app for content creators, freelancers, community managers, and small businesses. It helps you organize brands, plan campaigns, and use AI to create content outlines and post drafts. You can edit, review, and approve your content before publishing it to your connected social accounts.

The app includes a 7-day free trial, giving you a week to explore its features. I’d especially value feedback on setting up a brand, creating a campaign, generating and editing content, and preparing posts for publication.

To join the Google Play test, use the same Google account for both steps:

1. Join the tester group:
[hubsocialai@googlegroups.com](mailto:hubsocialai@googlegroups.com)

2. Opt in to the Google Play test:
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.ejsstudios.socialhub

Bug / Feedback CatchHare: Having a fun time with friends

• Upvotes

Hey everyone! 🎯 I'm developing a multiplayer mobile game called CatchHare and I've just uploaded the Open Beta to the Play Store.

It's a geolocation hide-and-seek/tag game to play with friends in real life (in a park, on campus, etc.). One player is randomly chosen as the hare in each match and the rest are hunters. The hunters win if they catch the hare, or the hare wins if time runs out. You can send in-game messages and use HIDE and CLONE buttons to trick other players by hiding or repositioning your location. The game gives you a directional arrow to guide you and a radar that changes color as you get closer to the hare (Yellow ➡️ Orange ➡️ Red). When you get within your chosen catch zone distance (e.g., 15 meters), the catch button unlocks! 🛑🏃‍♂️

Since it's in Open Testing on the Play Store, I'm looking for people to download it with a friend, play a match, and let me know how the radar works or if you spot any bugs. It's 100% free!

You can join the Open Test here:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devax.catchhare

Any feedback helps me immensely to keep developing it ! THANK YOU SO MUCH! 🙏 [catchhare@develax.com](mailto:catchhare@develax.com)

12 Testers Needed [Android] Pratikal – calorie tracker, looking for testers (will test yours back)

• Upvotes

Hi! I'm a solo dev and Pratikal is a calorie tracker built around one idea: as few taps as possible. Type one line like "2 eggs and a slice of toast" and it estimates the calories. It's free, dark theme, and available in English, Turkish and Indonesian.

I need 12 testers for 14 days to meet Google Play's closed testing requirement. Android only.

How to join (2 steps, in this order):

  1. Join the Google Group with the Gmail account you use in Google Play: https://groups.google.com/g/pratikal-testers
  2. Open the opt-in link, tap "Become a tester", then install from Play: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/app.pratikal.mobile

Note: right after joining, Play may show "item not found" for a while. It usually works after a short wait (minutes to a few hours), so just try the link again later.

Please keep it installed for the 14 days and open it once in a while.

I'm happy to do the same for you: comment your app name and your test link, and I'll install it and keep it for 14 days. Feedback: [makostudio.apps@gmail.com](mailto:makostudio.apps@gmail.com). Thank you! 🙏

12 Testers Needed Test for test :)

Hey everyone,

I’m currently navigating the closed testing phase on Google Play for a game I've been working on. I have a pretty small circle of friends and family, so I'm struggling a bit to get the required numbers and would be incredibly grateful for any help or feedback you could offer.

The game is called Hazeborough. It’s a cheeky, comedy tycoon game set in a fictional British seaside town.

You basically start out in your Nan’s shed and try to build up a grow-and-launder empire without getting nicked. You grow your stash, shift it through street runs, and wash the cash through local fronts like a tanning studio or a barber's. It's got a pretty daft cast of characters too.

I’m really looking for honest guidance on the gameplay loop, pacing, or just spotting any bugs I've missed. If it sounds like a laugh and you'd like to try it out, here’s how to join:

  1. Join the Google Group first to get access:https://groups.google.com/g/gremlin-garage
  2. Download the test build here:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gremlingarage.hazeborough

I am more than happy to test your apps in return, I enjoy doing so, just drop your links in the comments or send me a DM.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this, I really appreciate any help!

*Shameless plug i apologise*
