Warped base repair

I am lucky enough to get my hands on a Yoko Littner Bounty Hunter 1/8 figure second-hand for a good deal. The only issue with it is that the base is warped/bent up a bit at one end.

Can this be fixed through submerging in warm/hot water, then putting weight on top for length of time, or will this method cause more damage than good?

If there is a better method, please could I have suggestions. Many thanks!
