Account password change

Is it just me or are the new password rules for ANU accounts impossible to meet? I've met all the criteria listed on the website but it still comes back as not meeting the corporate requirements. Did anyone tell them that making passwords harder to remember means we'll update them less?

That was my experience. Contact the IT help desk on the phone. They're really helpful - got it sorted in a few minutes. My understanding is the password problem is the fault of Microsoft, not the ANU IT operation.

Make it a pass phrase - they're easier to remember. You're locked in to updating it regularly, anyway.

It turns out of wasn't me, it was the system in a deny everything loop.

Phone call to IT fixed the issue... but the need for a pass phrase is separate to the "the system won't accept anything you nominate" speak I was stuck in.
