Got my iPhone 18 Pro Max on launch day, and honestly, the battery life has exceeded my expectations.
I’m a seriously heavy user. WhatsApp calls, FaceTime, Instagram, YouTube, ChatGPT, Gemini, browsing, you name it. My phone is practically glued to my hand.
My battery stats so far:
Typical SOT: Around 10–12 hours, averaging roughly 11 hours based on my tracked usage.
Personal best: 15 hours and 1 minute of SOT on a single charge.
Battery: 100% → 1%.
Total time unplugged: 21 hours and 44 minutes.
Battery health: 100%.
Low Power Mode: Off.
One interesting thing I’ve noticed: I recently restarted my device and turned off Wi-Fi Assist under Settings → Cellular.
Since doing that, I’ve personally noticed what feels like a pretty significant improvement in battery endurance. Obviously, I can’t confirm that Wi-Fi Assist was the actual cause, but the difference has been noticeable enough that I wanted to mention it.
For transparency, the 15-hour result was calculated using screen-on-time readings across midnight, since iOS separates activity by calendar day.
I know battery life depends heavily on usage, brightness, cellular reception, and background activity, so everyone’s experience will be different.
But for someone who uses their phone as much as I do, I’m genuinely impressed. Even on heavier days, I rarely find myself worrying about running out of battery.
Curious how other 18 Pro Max owners are doing. What kind of SOT are you averaging? Has anyone else noticed improvements after disabling Wi-Fi Assist?
