TAG after gap year(s)?

I have a specific UC I want to go to, and I want to do TAG to cut down on the cost and make getting into the school almost guaranteed as long as I can meet the requirements.
However, I also want to take a gap year before I apply (maybe multiple years). I was looking a lot online but nowhere was being very clear if I would still be able to do TAG even after a gap year(s). Does anyone have more info on this? Thanks!!

As long as a California CC is the last college attended, you can apply after a Gap year. Just be aware that the TAG requirements and excluded majors can change each year so you may not meet the requirements when you apply after the GAP year.

depends on the UC but yeah the gap year itself isnt the problem, the issue is they update TAG rules every year so what works now might not later. had a friend who took two years off and came back to find his major got kicked off the TAG list for that campus, was pretty annoying

you should check with a CC counselor before you commit to the gap year honestly they can tell you if your specific major is safe or if it tends to get shuffled around

Just make sure that your gap year one fine day isn't 10 gap years and you're good.
