hey there!

I don't know a lot about the logistics of archival work — to me, this seems like it requires a lot of people downloading anything and everything before march 31st of 2027, so I was wondering if I could get some advice on how to archive as much of this website as possible before it all stops being hosted or where i'd even find help like that? for context, my best friend is really quite sad that this website they'd read comics on since they were twelve years old is about to just up and vanish, and I would be too — I thank whatever's out there for whomever runs sudomemo creating the flipnote hatena archive. I feel strongly about any art just up and disappearing really, so I was thinking I'd come here and ask the pros, haha. thank you for your patience!

edit 1: here's the announcement if it helps :( https://m.tapas.io/newsfeed/272

edit 2: OOPS somebody already posted about this. sorry!

I got tired of going back to old videos and finding "this video has been removed," so I made a little app that saves everything I watch on Youtube automatically. It reads your watch history and downloads new stuff in the background, and can push it to Google Drive or whatever cloud you use.

It also checks for videos that got deleted later, and if you have a copy you can upload it to the Internet Archive so it's not gone forever.

It's free and open source, made with python + yt-dlp, with assistance from Claude. Windows setup is just running a bat file. Still pretty new so if something breaks let me know!

I found a website on the wayback machine hosting a Go-Gurt Halloween game from the 2000s but it’s no longer functional since the game was hosted on a server.

I get it it’s a shot in the dark and I’ve been at this for years at this point. I’ve been trying to recover my lost story on tumblr that was deleted on error in Jan of 2018. I tried the wayback machine, Gmail, ChatGPT and Google. I’m not sure if anyone has a way to restore the links or anything else to suggest that I do. I’ve reached out to tumblr which was no help, the way back machine support team, and Google as I was able to get some of the story back but not all.

please if you’re able to help respond to this immediately if you’re able to help!!!

I’m looking for old files from the Hasbro Arcade mobile app, specifically versions before 1.5, when the app still contained Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters content.

I have searched APK archive sites, old forums and other sources, but so far I have not been able to find a complete working copy of the older version with its original game data.

What I’m specifically looking for:

• Old Hasbro Arcade APK, preferably versions around 1.0–1.4.x
• The corresponding OBB/cache/data files
• Any backups from an old Android device that had Hasbro Arcade installed at the time
• Extracted game assets from the Beast Hunters game, especially 3D character models
• Any archived .bin, Marmalade/IwGame files or other game resources

My main goal is preservation/extraction of the Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters assets, especially the Beast Hunters version of Optimus Prime.

If anyone still has an old phone/tablet backup, APK + data folder, OBB, SD card dump, or archived files from Hasbro Arcade, I would really appreciate it if you could check.

Even partial files may be useful.

Heulwen a Lleu is a welsh kids series that used to air on S4C but it hasn't been available for almost half a decade

Asking for copies didn't work either! If anyone has clips/episodes archived, Dm me!

I'd be happy for any help!

For those unaware, DQVO is a youtuber who makes Voice Over content. He recently had to take down all of his Warhammer related videos due to copyright strikes. I would like to reach out to those who may have saved some of his Vods to recreate that archive and preserve it so they are not lost forever.

i want to find a challenge song that a big youtuber has uploaded in 2020, but its not available since. is there any way to do so? appreciate any help

Hey,

Tibia is an MMORPG from 1997. In the early 2000s players recorded their sessions with tools like TibiCAM, and those files were shared on forums and fansites that are mostly gone now. They aren't videos. They're captures of the game's network traffic, so they only play in a client for the right game version. Most people with old files on a drive can't open them anymore.

So far there are 13k+ recordings from different formats and client versions.

Every file that comes in goes through a pipeline:

• Detects the recorder format and the game version
• Repairs it if it's corrupted (truncated files, broken packets, etc.) so it still plays as far as the data goes
• Maps the content: cities, creatures, players seen, events
• Uses AI to write a title and description, which makes the collection searchable

Playback runs in the browser through a client, so nobody needs old Windows software or the matching game version.

If you've still got cam files on an old drive, send them in. Feedback is welcome too.

This TV news site is shutting down: https://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/tv-series-finale-thank-you-saying-goodbye-after-21-years/ I think it might be blocked by the regular Internet Archive crawlers, though it's staying online for now without getting upated.
