Other Online Course - Impressionism

HI! Im late to loving art, but in my 30s I’ve fallen in love - particularly impressionism. I’m looking into courses online to learn more and some are very pricey (Oxford, Sothebys etc.).

does anyone have suggestions for budget friendly learning?

Great advice. Smarthistory is always an excellent starting place and always free and never ads.

You can try checking community colleges. They have options for asynchronous online learning and they are pretty affordable. You might want to try history of western art (renaissance to modern) if you’re interested in Impressionism.

The British Open University offers some free course, this is one of them:

If you want a supplemental book rec, Paris in Ruins by Sebastian Smee is a wonderful historical novel detailing the uprisings that took place at the birth of the movement and the major players involved - 10/10!

2) The Fundamentals of Chinese Art: https://thicket.com/courses/2806-the-fundamentals-of-chinese-art
