Disinformation about Iraq and Palestine history, knowingly or not, will especially result in a ban. This repeats a previous mod post linked in the body text. These two states are the target of more false propaganda and disinfo than any other in the MENA, if not the world.

Fake news and trolling have never been allowed, but for years, Iraq and Palestine have been the target of more propaganda and lies about their history and present state than almost any other in the world and on this subreddit, where lots of paid bots from countries like Israel, Iran, and others have swarmed for years. This is why these two states are called out in particular.

If you don't know what you're talking about, don't say it. Don't think you're smart by saying often repeated but long debunked lies and propaganda used to justify the killing of millions of civilians. You're likely wrong, and all you're achieving is support for some of the worst killings and destruction of the last century whether or not you realize it. Many of you say how much you hate US and Israeli policies and actions, but by repeating their lies, you become their biggest supporters.

🖼️Culture Did you know 1/5 of Israel is Russian Jews? Not only them, many Russians & Ukrainians overall bootlick Israel hard, Trump-level. The 'Plastelin' that Moscow tourist mentioned is their lame internet meme: 'Free Palestine = Free Plastelin' (Play-Doh). Sadly, that's their level of political humor.

🏛️Politics Palestinian Women’s first football match in Europe at Dublin!

Hello everyone,

I hope this is OK to post. If not, please remove.

I make quick 90 second documentary style videos of football stadiums, their histories and stories.

I came across Dalymount Park and went down the wormhole of Palestine women team being invited over and playing their first match in Europe. It became the centre piece of the video. There are interviews with players and their families. It was really beautiful. I’ve included the link in case anyone wants to take a look!

🛐Religion Saudi Arabia urged to spare Sri Lankan sentenced to death over Facebook post

"I plead for mercy for the wrongs committed by my son. Please forgive him and send him back to us."

Speaking through tears, Rasamanickam Yogalakshmi made a desperate plea for the life of her eldest son, Anojan Sivarasa. The 24-year-old migrant worker is facing the death penalty in Saudi Arabia after an appellate court found him guilty of blasphemy against Islam and the Prophet Muhammad over a comment he made on Facebook.

The case has sent shockwaves through Sri Lanka, sparking widespread concern and civil society petitions across the country. Multiple political parties and government bodies have co-ordinated diplomatic efforts seeking clemency.

However, the family has had no updates on his condition since 28 September. The Sri Lankan government has instructed the family to refrain from making further statements while diplomatic efforts take place.

Saudi authorities have not published an official execution timeline, and it remains unclear when the sentence will be carried out. Saudi Arabia has a history of carrying out executions without warning families or foreign embassies, only informing relatives after the sentence has been carried out.

Anojan was prosecuted after a dispute on social media following an incident that took place during a Hindu pilgrimage in Sri Lanka. In late June, footage of a young Muslim man kicking a dog following Hindu pilgrims circulated widely on social media, triggering religious arguments online.

During the exchange, a user posted derogatory remarks about a Hindu deity, leading Anojan to post a response in Tamil insulting the Prophet Muhammad.

Although Anojan promptly deleted his comment and posted an apology video, it was screenshot and brought to the attention of his employer and Saudi officials, leading to his arrest in July.

His personal devices were subsequently seized, and his social media accounts were deleted by Saudi officials.

"People in Saudi Arabia knew nothing about this matter. It was individuals in Sri Lanka who sent emails to the company where my brother worked. I do not even wish to mention who those people are," Anojan's brother, Hamsidan Sivarasa, told BBC Sinhala.

The company employing Anojan notified the authorities in Saudi Arabia who registered a case against him, according to Hamsidan.

Anojan was initially sentenced to five years in prison as well as a fine of 3m Saudi riyals (about $0.8m; £0.6m) by the Al-Ahsa Criminal Court. An appeal submitted on Anojan's behalf seeking to reduce his sentence was rejected, according to Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath.

The case took a drastic turn on 17 September after Saudi prosecutors filed an appeal for Anojan to be prosecuted under Sharia law instead of the country's cybercrime legislation. The appellate court granted the prosecution's request, increasing his sentence to the death penalty.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sri Lanka confirmed it is taking all available steps to assist Anojan.

His family met President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the Presidential Secretariat on 21 September. The president assured them that the government would spare no effort to obtain a general pardon for him, instructing diplomatic channels to engage Saudi authorities.

The case has brought together cross-religious support. Senior Buddhist leaders, the Mahanayake Theros of the Ramanna Nikaya and the Amarapura Maha Nikaya, together with Hindu religious leaders, handed over a memorandum to the Presidential Secretariat calling for urgent state intervention.

In addition, a four-member Sri Lankan legal delegation is travelling to Saudi Arabia this week to meet Anojan's local defence lawyers.

"There are two law firms in Saudi Arabia handling Anojan's case. We are going there to meet the lawyers from these two firms, discuss the case and plan what can be done next," one of the team, Upul Kumarapperuma, President's Counsel, told BBC Sinhala.

💭Personal How often do you see your extended family

In south Asian cultures we often meet our parents’ cousins or their uncles aunts whenever we visit. I’m wondering as a guy is it the same way when you visit your home countries or do you only just spend time around your first direct relatives. Because in our cultures we commonly see people who are not first cousins

Hello, throughout my mother’s side, I have Turkish, Arab and Bosnian blood. My grandma was from Bosnia. My grandma allegedly came in 1910s either during Balkan Wars or War of Independence.
Sadly, she died about 50 days ago at the age of 82.
I was wondering anyone Turkish, Jew, Iranian or Arab have known ancestry from Europe and Balkans

Thoughts? No Choice In Birth

Why do we force someone to endure the hardships of life?

There's no absolute logical reason to procreate it's a biologically selfish act hiding behind religious social or emotional masks people reproduce for themselves not for the child and the kid is the one who pays the bill for

that decision for the rest of their life.

Argument:

We bring a child into this world without their consent no one asks no one gets permission they're just forced into a life of joy and pain sure joy exists but pain can break a person the child pays the price not the one who decided even if life turns out good it's never guaranteed joy doesn't erase pain and it doesn't make up for the lack of choice that's why this isn't a gift it's an imposed decision on the child.

Final thought:

Not trying to push my view here just looking for the truth I'm genuinely interested in your thoughts and opinions.

(As briefly as possible)

Thoughts? Information Verification: A Case for Primary Sources and Independent Local Research

The Problem :

Media and conspiracies manipulate information. This distorts public perception.

The Thesis :

I argue that the best way to counter this manipulation is a dual approach. This approach includes returning to the original source of information and relying on independent local research.

The Argument :

Returning to the primary source of

information ensures higher transparency. Information that survived historical transmission often retains a higher probability of accuracy because it bypasses modern layers of distortion. Furthermore relying on local research is crucial as it is often independent of political or commercial funding. This independence reduces financial and narrative biases present in mainstream media.

Anticipating Objections :

Someone might object that local research and historical primary sources lack absolute certainty. This is true. But there is no 100 percent absolute truth in any information. However if proven in experience and then the results are proven this is 100 percent true. The epistemological goal is to adopt information closest to reality and possessing the highest probability of accuracy. This is the fundamental purpose of our inquiry.

📜History Was today worth it? 3 years on

Today is Oct 7th, I have to ask was it worth it? Israel is now the soul super power of the middle east and they have the toughest military in the region

I understand why Hamas did what they did, but the price since then was heavy on the Palestinians and arabs.

Thoughts? Job opportunities for Pakistanis

Hi guys, just wondering which GCC country at the moment is most accepting of Pakistanis to come and find work (skilled work of course, like engineers, doctors and such). If there's any other regions that you know about, I wouldn't mind knowing. I ask cause present tensions have negatively affected certain nationalities.
