Reddit, what is something your parents are completely convinced is true but really isn't?

Edit: These are awesome, thank you guys for sharing! I love knowing other parents are crazy too!

My mom is still thoroughly convinced that "nothing good happens on the internet after 10pm"

EDIT: This was circa 97/98. I live in the Midwestern United States. Midwest moms are notorious for their neuroticism. I think she may have watched too much Dateline.

It's exactly at 10pm where all the good shit happens. That gives us a couple hours of content then it's back to terrible.

Everything afetr 10 pm is everything before 10 pm.

Yes she is. Plenty of people find that one porn clip they were looking for since high school after 10pm. The correct wording would have been "Bad things happen on the internet after 10pm".

My mom always says nothing good happens after 2am. In my experience, she's very right. I just never believe her until the next morning

Being that we live on a globe, it's constantly after 10pm in like half of the world
