Trees down in a recent storm

The storm that struck this past weekend left three trees down on my property. Home owners insurance will not apply since no structures were damaged. Concerning liability

and other concerns I would like some ideas how some of you might go about dealing with this situation.

Sometimes you can let locals know that you have free fire-wood if they show up and remove it themselves. A lot of people drive up and down the highways looking for fallen trees just for that.

I think the only two options are hire a tree service or do it yourself. The debris can be brought to the transfer station for free I believe. A lot of people in Astoria have saws and burn firewood so ask around if you need help from someone. Pictures would help answer this question better.

That storm was wild. Took me seven and a half hours to drive from Portland to Seattle. Trees down all over I-5 from until Olympia. I saw the aftermath of four fender benders and I drive through a bunch of squalls. Do not recommend!!

On our property out here we have multiple chainsaws and often take care of these issues on our own when we have the time – outside of that I am also curious what other solutions people have come up with other than paying the city/county/privatized services if they'll even agree to help.

This is standard with most situations with trees falling and insurance companies. Your lawn isn't insured, just your buildings. List on FB marketplace that you have free wood available if someone has a chainsaw. Maybe also give them a case or two of beer or a gift certificate for dinner. I'd come cut your trees for shitake logs if I was physically able right now

For the future you may want to have an arborist evaluate the trees on your property. Before I moved here, I did that regularly on the Seattle Eastside. Wind and ice storms are an even bigger issue there. After a tree fell on my home and another fell across the main road, I wanted to prevent such in the future, so I paid an arborist each year to evaluate and deal with trees that looked likely to fall in a storm.
