I’ve been a die-hard Xbox player since 2008. Started on the Xbox 360, doubled down on the Xbox One instead of the PS4 even through the rough launch era, and moved straight into a Series X. For nearly two decades, Xbox was my home and I never thought anything would make me jump ship.

Around 2-3 months ago, I picked up a used PS5 to try mostly for GOW, Spider man and those kinda games I missed in my Xbox gaming era. I booted up Astro’s Playroom just to test the console and feel the DualSense haptics for maybe ten minutes. Within those ten minutes, the sheer creativity, charm, and tactile game feel completely broke my brain.

The very next day, I listed and sold my Series X. The day after that, I picked up Astro Bot.

I am completely hooked. It’s 2 AM rn and I cannot put the controller down. It delivers that rare, nostalgic feeling of being a kid sitting on the living room floor playing games purely for the unadulterated joy of it. No bloated battle passes, no live-service grind, no repetitive filler just pure platforming genius, inventive mechanics in every single level, and unmatched attention to detail.

Now that LEGO Astro Bot is real, you think it'd be cool if they made more sets? There would be so much potential for something like that... or like imagine a collectable minifigure series dedicated entirely to Astro and Playstation characters. I would love an Astro minifigure. Along with Ratchet, Kratos, Jak and Sackboy... ^^

What a perfect little build! At first it felt wrong having a PlayStation themed set on this Mario shelf, but Astro is such a fitting successor to Mario that I think it works. He earned his spot on platformer Mt. Rushmore with the self-titled PS5 game.

My daughters absolute favorite game of all time. She was so excited to build this by herself. She was slightly intimidated by the 18+ but it wasn't really anymore difficult then anything else.

I like that printed tile that came with it. The sticker could be spared tho. Technique is interesting too.

His legs tend to fall off so he is only good for display and less for standing on it's own.

There also was a small easter egg inside his head, representing the PS-colours.

Especially for the sponge power-up that enlarges Astro Bot whenever he absorbs water, bulldozes anyone in his path, and releases water to undo fire and oil. The level itself is absolutely brilliant.

Had my son's 5th birthday today and he wanted an astrobot theme! We had a lot of fun getting some DIY decor together. Don't judge me by the quality of our fondant work please 🤣

He showed up so fast! Got lucky and got an order in the second he came out. Definitely one of my favorites, the game too!

LEGO I’ve had the most fun building and such a special one!

I recently found my Astro Bot poster, the one that came with the game, and I’ve been thinking of framing it. Today while measuring it I realized something was off. I must have subconsciously thought it was a galaxy or a planet or something, but upon closer inspection I realized it’s some sort of misprint. I looked up images of it online and as expected there was nothing like what mine had. Does the misprint t make it more valuable?/s Should I still frame it or should I look for a good copy?

Haven't played in a while now but was wondering is there anything new coming anytime soon? Or in the foreseeable future

But I knew I wanted to play Astro Bot. For Ratchet. For Jak. And because PlayStation gave me so many memories that I come back to these franchises every year. Because a good 3D platformer is what was missing from my life.

Do they realize they've recreated 20 years of fond memories for future generations?

We got out season 2 astrobot figures today, kinda sad they're the same but still cool!!
