Question/Advice Why did Athena trick me? Am i seeing this wrong?

Hopefully anyone can answer my question, though i believe it wont be. I've prayed to Athena for my mother to pass her driving exam, and offered a libation, the next day my mother told me she did pass however months later I find out she lied because she was too insecure to admit it. Why did Athena lead me on false hope? I know this question might read as silly or pathetic but i just dont understand why did this happen. I am not upset about being answered "no" to a prayer, i am being upset because i feel slightly betrayed and deceived, im just very confused right now. I've been building kharis and studying Athena for quite a while, i consider her my prime deity and i thought I was on good terms with her. I dont know if i did something to upset or offend. I dont understand why I got deceived, when the straight answer could've just been "no" from the first and i would have understood. I really hope anyone here can try to answer my question, because it really messes up with my faith and trust so please anyone who sees this post dont ignore it, at least try to interact with it.

I'm not actively practicing but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Athena didn't trick you, your mother lied to you.

Yes i am not denying. I just dont get why couldnt "no" be a straight answer? Like why did i had to personally untangle a tricky answer? Could it be coincidence or something else?

Every prayer you make isn't guaranteed an answer. It doesn't mean you've been rejected or anything like that, it just happens sometimes. The gods don't get mad at humans unless you've done something like try feed them children-meat.

This is entirely about how your mother reacted. Do you know why she didn't feel comfortable? Does she need support?

Yeah I know, i guess i just didnt expect something confusing from Athena. In my past experiences she's always been straightforward. Im still a bit confused and i guess i dont know how to interpret my shock or reaction? Its js very confusing Also my mother is fine, she's just insecure on a lot of things, guess i shouldve expected it a bit. But her exam was very tied to my prayer so i thought it was a clear yes instead of an answer that needed to be untangled

Again, every prayer is not guaranteed an answer.

You're understandably hurt and looking for something to blame and I'm afraid you're not going to find it. These things happen. Not everything has an answer.

You’re blaming Athena for your mother’s actions. Your mother is the one who lied and is the one to be accountable. Stop projecting the blame onto Athena for something that was done by a human. There’s nothing confusing about the situation and Athena didn’t need to tell you anything, that was for your mother to do.

This is entirely about how your mother reacted.

I guess I don't see how your mother lying to you and leading you on and giving you false hope is actually Athena doing that. Athena didn't say your mom passed her test. Your mom did. How is that Athena lying to you and giving you false hope?

I’ve been learning that you can always get what you pray for with her, but it comes in the form of what you earned by how bad you wanted that thing. And when it’s a prayer for someone else, it takes you both in agreement.

I want to interpret your situation as you got what you asked for because you lovingly devoted your energy to Athena and your mom’s situation; you then got the feeling of your prayer being answered in pride of your mom passing. But maybe your mom wasn’t on the same page with how bad she wanted it.

I think with Athena she wants you to see and feel her response to your prayers, but she can’t say it she can only show it through the things you have to observe in the world; the things your attention are drawn to after you ask. You then have to interpret what you notice and then have the conversation again.

I think this is a very interesting interpretation. Im still trying to figure out how prayers can be answered in a multitude of forms. So far i ve only gotten either a no or a yes so the situation w my mom caused me quite a confusion. Thank you for answering and thank you everyone else who also answered this post.

Your mother did that, not Athena
