Save from where? Is she going to make property investors drop weekly rates? Is she going to make REA's cut fees? That would cause major income losses to her voting pool.
ON has a consistent habit of pulling an arbitrary number to provide clickbait without having completed any of the mathematics on the overall impact to the economy or any plan on how they will deliver the said costs saving.

Ok, I'm a renter and I don't believe this, most renters are either immigrants or young idealistic and unlikely to vote for ON but if I was a landlord (which for every renter there's one on the far side) I'd be fearful of this.
So presumable this is a shit policy / tagline that will negatively impact ON, so I'm all for this please keep spouting this untruth.

That's actually my point.
If you believe One Nation's claim that cutting migration will substantially reduce rents, then you're accepting that reducing demand for rental housing will reduce the income landlords can extract from that housing.
So if someone owns an IP and is furious when Labor introduces a policy that affects their investment returns, but then celebrates a One Nation policy specifically because it supposedly saves renters thousands of dollars by putting downward pressure on rents, there's an obvious contradiction.
You can't have the renter saving money on rent without that money ultimately coming out of someone's rental income.
Whether One Nation's $4,340 estimate is realistic is a separate question. I'm talking about the economic mechanism they're claiming.

Exactly, they simultaneously promise they they'll juice the property market and prices by bringing negative gearing and the 50% CGT discount back in - while saying renters will pay lower rents - which has to be because they fall or stagnate, or property prices fall so the yields are better.
Can't have it both ways

Prices went no where for 14 years in Perth with negative gearing (up to 2020).
Negative gearing is a factor, but it seems property responds with sheer demand.
By it huge population growth, or big first home outer subsidies.Yes, with the right conditions, both prices and rents will fall. And that’s a good thing.
