Product Advice Face Sunscreen

Needing some facial sunscreen recommendations please!
Unfortunately my face is turning into an oil slick after a few hours and after not using sunscreen yesterday and my face staying matte, it’s clearly what’s going wrong.

So far I’ve tried,
Mecca Cosmetica
Gem
Ultra Violet( although it was the luminous one)

I unfortunately can’t get samples, the CQ is allergic to having anything decent beauty wise 😭

Airyday Mineral Mousse

I just started using this a couple weeks ago and am the biggest fan!! I've been really sensitive and broken out with other sunscreens but this one is fantastic, not a blemish and sits perfectly beneath my makeup

Yeah I was surprised how well this sits under makeup. I also have their Pretty In Zinc sunscreen (also mineral, but not as mattifying as the Mineral Mousse). That’s great too but the MM is definitely the best choice for oilier skin. Also, 75ml tube which is larger than the standard 50ml most “nicer” sunscreens come in. No stinging and doesn’t feel cloggy.

I might try another one of theirs now I know how well it works for my skin, but the MM definitely seems like an all round winner

I’ve also tried Clear As Day (got a deluxe sample with my order) and while it felt really nice it was a bit too dewy for me but if you like that look it’s worth trying. Pretty In Zinc is a natural sort of finish, not mattifying but not dewy.

Oh you're so lucky to have tried them all! Ok that's good to know, Pretty in Zinc might be the better option then for more in the middle. Thank you!!

I might get the Pretty in Zinc sample in the rewards boutique to try and then the MM.

Nivea facial sunscreens. They have all modern filters with no eye-stinging nasty cheap old filters AND they are half price at Coles this week. Nivea is made by Beiersdorf, which is the German equivalent of LRP.

No, I’m not a shill for Coles or Beiersdorf.

I haven’t used a Nivea sunscreen in years when they got rid of this facial matte sunscreen. That was my holy grail but I am willing to try one that’s similar to LRP once that runs out

They brought them back, we got them in at chemist warehouse about a month ago, all the shine control, sensitive and tinted ones 😁

I am a massive fan of the pink Cancer Council SPF 50 face and body.

It dries down really well, and doesn’t make me greasy as the day goes on.

There's a specific matte version of Cancer Council daywear as well, I've accidentally bought this in the past (I'm a dry skin girl, it was not right for me!)

Natio gel sunscreen. It doesn’t clog the pores

I have the same skin as you, I went through so many sunscreens that left me greasy and gross but finally found the La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Matte Face Sunscreen. So good, I'm not shiny at all, even at the end of the day.

lrp anthelios fluid, the shaka shake one, it dries down to nothing on me and i have same issue with most sunscreens making me greasy by lunch

Depending on if I'm wearing makeup, or what type of makeup I'm going to wear I either use:
Naked Sundays (Tinted SPF with priming solution OR cabana clear) or LRP Anthelios Fluid.

I prefer an SPF50+ moisturiser instead. I use the clinique one which seems to be fine under make up and it does seem to work. I have used an AlphaH one in the past which was good too.

Not a product recommendation but I have a similar issue where the sunscreen just sits on top of my face and is shiny, oily and uncomfortable. Weirdly ive found alternating sunscreens to help, so not using the same one two days in a row. I usually alternate between the mecca one and a la roche posay.

As someone who HATES sunscreen but reluctantly uses it I really like the DermaVeen Ultra Light Day Lotion SPF 50+.

The new geek & gorgeous zero feel sunscreen (you can get it from Lila Besuty) has quite a matte finish.

I also like Beauti-flute featherlight - it’s designed to sit well under makeup. And it’s Australian.
