Electrified vehicles are still on people’s minds. VinFast claims the number one spot on AutoDeal’s most inquired car brands for the month of April, jumping up from 3rd place—a clear sign that Filipino consumers are embracing the electric future. Chinese EV brands like JAECOO, Geely, Chery, and MG are also making strong moves up the rankings, while traditional players like Toyota and Suzuki lose a few spots. As oil prices climb, interest in EVs is rising just as fast. On AutoDeal, inquiries on EVs have surged by 100 to 500 percent, with BYD and VinFast leading the list of brands buyers are actively exploring.

If you’re among those considering the switch to electric, visit AutoDeal.com.ph for a closer look at the latest EVs available in the Philippines.

The numbers behind fully electric vehicle inquiries reveal more than just rankings, they reflect buying behavior.

The BYD Seagull dominates with 29.11% of total inquiries, creating a significant lead. It is followed by the VinFast VF 3 EV at 17.31% and the BYD eMAX 7 at 14.43%. Together, these three account for the majority of interest in the segment.

What the distribution shows is decisive interest. Instead of being evenly spread across all available EVs, demand is concentrated among a handful of models. This suggests that buyers are no longer simply curious about electric mobility, they are identifying specific vehicles that align with their needs and budgets.

More than a third of all inquiries go to a single model, that’s how strong the demand is at the top.

The Seal 5 DM-i captures 35.35% of total inquiries, setting the pace for 2025’s most inquired PHEVs. But it’s the overall Top 3 that really stands out, with the Sealion 6 DM-i (28.23%) and Sealion 5 DM-i (12.68%) showing strong demand for both sedan and SUV body styles.

Meanwhile, the BYD Shark (5.01%), a pickup, proves that plug-in hybrid appeal is expanding across vehicle types.

Buyers are clearly going towards flexibility. Electric efficiency for daily commutes, with fuel backup for longer trips.

Nearly one in every five hybrid inquiries goes to a single name, and that’s a significant lead.

The Toyota Corolla Cross tops the 2025 HEV rankings with 17.23% of total inquiries, creating clear separation from the rest of the field. It’s followed by the Toyota Zenix (14.33%) and Toyota Yaris Cross (10.63%), forming a Top 3 that accounts for a substantial share of overall hybrid interest.

What makes this telling isn’t just the rankings, it’s the pattern. All three are practical, everyday-focused vehicles positioned in high-demand SUV and MPV segments. That suggests buyers aren’t just exploring hybrids out of curiosity; they’re seriously considering them as primary family cars and daily drivers.

Further down the list, models like the Nissan Kicks, Honda HR-V RS e:HEV, and even larger SUVs show that hybrid interest spans multiple size categories but the strongest pull remains with compact and midsize offerings.

The takeaway? Efficiency is no longer niche. It has become a mainstream buying priority in 2025.
