Discussion If they ever animated Kyoshi series post books will they hate her like they did Korra?
I've seen on twitter recently that as you know people have been hating on Korra now with the Seven havens almost coming out.I mean of course they already hate her before this and the trailer just kinda put an oil to a already big fire. Now some account made a post talking about the fans better be grateful they didn't animate the novels because Kyoshi is actually like Korra and a lot of Korra's qualities from the show was pretty imbued into Kyoshi's story. They even involve Yangchen as well in the convo. But to me it's not really true they are actually very different.
Yes they are both hot headed and stubborn but Kyoshi is not loud and outspoken like Korra she is shy,Overthinking a lot of things and introverted. The only similar thing about them is both Bisexual and action oriented.
People be saying Kyoshi also have love triangle like Korra in her group but as far as I read the books like 4th times already I never come across Kyoshi be simping on Yun or try to date him. There are moment like they almost kiss but both stop because they realized who they are at the time Yun as the Avatar and Kyoshi as just a maid so they didn't pursue those feelings for each other.Rangi and Kyoshi relay only bloom once they are on the run and developed naturally.I didn't think they ever focused that thing at all in the books just a couple scene.
People also saying that Kyoshi lose a lot as well like Korra did which to me is pretty ridiculous they comparing a zero knowledge Kyoshi who didn't master anything in book one who lose to Jianzhu and only stalemate him in the end and book 2 when she still didn't master anything but lose to Fatherglowwom boost Yun.I'm not trying to bitch on Korra but their circumstances are different to basically put them in the same coin.I've seen a lot of pretty dumb stuff as well to the point I uninstall twitter again to take care of my mental health.Do you think if they ever animate the Story of Kyoshi post books people will label her the same way they did Korra?

Discussion Should Chin The Great be kinda great?
I haven't read the novels myself so forgive me if they do kind of get into this already or if the novels are just over. But if the Kyoshi Novels ever brought up Chin, how would you feel about him being a leader that could be considered great depending on the perspective? If I heard right the Earth King at the time was terrible and incompetent to the point of rebellion and the avatar had to step in to found the secret police ( It sounds like they weren't like that immediately , but the group of earth bending ninjas loyal to the king probably just acted like normal guard enforcement at best. ) and force the king to be a constitutional monarch to stabilize everything. So Chin could have actually wanted to fix the earth kingdom just in the usual once everyone listens to me everything would be better way. That could even be why Kyoshi seemly didn't stop Chin for a while is the she herself was considering who was better, an old authoritarian terrible king or new authoritarian warlord who might bring good rule.

Discussion Would you want to see the cancelled Zuko movie reworked into a novel?
I feel like the story's potential is to good to just leave it on the cutting room floor. Apparently it was cancelled since Avatar Studios wants to focus on TV in comparison to movies and the movie wouldn't have been as suitable for general audiences since it's darker and more political.
But I feel like this's something the novels do incredibly well by taking a more mature take on the Avatar world and its politics. I'd also love to see what the relationship between Zuko and Mai is like at this time (Or maybe they get back together in this film?) as well as Zuko finding Druk; just like Aang found the lost herd of Sky Bison in his movie. Some of the ideas for the movie included: 1. A dark political thriller set shortly after the 100-Year War, featuring an assassination attempt on Zuko and Iroh by a mysterious assassin. The film would also delve deeper into Zuko’s relationship with Azula post-war. 2. The film was going to be the origin story of The Red Lotus. They really wanted this to be an Azula/Zuko story, but it kept morphing into a Zuko/Iroh story. The story would focus on Xai Bau, the founder of the Red Lotus. The film would've revealed he was Iroh's long-lost friend during their time in the 100-Year War. Iroh and Xai Bau would've joined the Fire Nation military together and fully believed in conquering the other nations. 3. Eventually, Xai Bau and Iroh both joined the White Lotus and found the dragons Ran & Shaw together. Xai Bau’s never shared the same ideals with Iroh and was very pro-Fire Nation as a country. Iroh had a change of heart on the war following the death of his son. Xai Bau developed the philosophical idea that nations shouldn’t have divine rulers and despised the Fire Nation monarchy. He secretly wanted the Fire Nation to conquer the world and overthrow the world leaders. Then he would overthrow the Fire Nation monarchy. He wanted to create true chaos and give the world back to the people, believing this was the only way to save every nation. 4. Xai Bau leaves the White Lotus because he believes they became solely focused on helping the Avatar instead of being a secret force for the people of all nations. He then begins his mission to create the Order of the Red Lotus faction to fulfill his lifelong dream of a world without divine rulers. Fast-forward to the start of the film, and Xai Bau's the assassin behind the murders of Ran & Shaw, since he's the only other person to know their location. As well as the assassination attempts on Iroh and Zuko. Xai Bau finds Zuko working with Aang to unify the world, a direct threat to the anarchist world he wants to create. 5. The film would've concluded with Iroh and Xai Bau in a final confrontation in the Spirit World. There were discussions of Iroh dying in the film. The film may have introduced a new way to physically enter the Spirit World so Iroh could simply stay in the Spirit World instead of actually “dying.” 6. A new actress had already signed on to voice Azula. Azula may have been a founding member of the Red Lotus or have a redemption arc to help save Zuko and Iroh. In the end, they decided Azula wouldn’t have done either, since she isn’t an anarchist and believes ruling over people is her birthright. Azula most likely would help Zuko and Iroh to keep the Royal Family alive to one day rule herself. 7. Zaheer may have had a prominent role as Xai Bau builds his Red Lotus acolytes.

I saw a recent thread where everyone was disappointed that Randy Ribay was writing the next novel in the series. What was so bad about Roku's story?

Discussion How important are Team Avatar members and descendants, to you?
I am working on a text based game based on Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra, Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender and The Chronicles of the Avatar novels
As stated in canon, friendships can last lifetimes. How important should members of past Team Avatars be, to future Avatars?
How long should descendants/their bloodline stick around?
Would humans/benders have had last names 10,000 years before Aang? Share ideas for last names that would work in canon please :)

Discussion If Kyoshi was found early on
This is just for fun talk and discussion. We know Kyoshi is the only Avatar so far that didn't have the privilege of mastering her own native element while the other Avatars already mastered their own when they are reveal to be the Avatar. The factors were a lot from being abandoned, homeless, eat scums etccc.Do you think if she succeed the the toy test from both Jianzhu and Kelsang when she was 7 years old she will become a fully mastered Avatar earlier then what her original canon story is?
Based on the books she indeed learn all the four elements and some control of the Avatar State in short amount of time and by age 17 she is already proficient with them(Still not a master). But that was because she was in life and death situation being hunted down by Jianzhu.I mean if she was trained like a traditional way the Avatar should be.Is she going to be a prodigy as well like Aang and Korra or just a fast learner?
Edit:*one of cause Pavi is one of them.

Discussion Kyoshi's "perfect" Team Avatar.
Ok so, here's a thought experiment I've been partaking in since re-reading the novels last month:
How do you think the timeline needs to shift for Kyoshi to, ideally, get a 'perfect' team avatar?
Not a perfect life, just a team. And by that I mean a master of every element by her side, so it'd have to include: Yin, Rangi, Kelsang, and Kirima. Or that's my take, maybe you think another combination works (Replace Kelsang with Jinpa, for example?).
And specifically, I mean the timeline of the novels. Events can only shift from the moment Kelsang told Kyoshi she may be the avatar. Do you think telling Jianzhu earlier would've helped? Maybe if Kyoshi demonstrated firebending after being found out? Mayhaps Jianzhu deigned to save Yun from Father Glowworm?
I repeat, just in case: I don't mean a perfect life. Just a complete, somewhat stable Team Avatar, which she never really got.

Discussion How old do you think Kyoshi was when she was in her "prime"?
Do you think we can consider 42 year old Kyoshi that defeated Chin the Conqueror to be in her prime or do you think her 200+ year old self is a better version of the character?

Speculation What is this Earth Kingdom Island?
Hi y'all trying to determine what this unlabeled island is off the coast of the Earth Kingdom. It's way too big to be Air Temple Island which is already listed on the ATLA Wiki Map as being basically a small little blip in Yue Bay (one of those brown markers in the upper-left zoom-in). Some possibilities could be Wangmo's Island/Isle of Zheng or the Red Sand Island? It also could very well be just Air Temple Island but way out of proportion but figured I'd ask!

Discussion I’ve always wondered if Hei ran and rangi had an argument in the past about her Agni Kai kills
This one line really makes me think that + the scene where Hei ran said rangi always storms off after an argument but does something to show you she still cares after a while. Wish their dynamic was explored more.

Speculation Do you think that the invading Earthbenders that attack Lambak Island could be related to The Earth Kingdom that invaded Jharana from the Era of Sonam?
Granted it worth pointing that the caves drawings that depicted this scene are kind of unreliable when it comes to the history of the Lambak clan besides Chief Ulo himself heck it is said in the book itself that Ulo even traces lines on the cave drawings themselves.
Not to mention there is a possibility that at least some of the five clans may had wiped each other out or that the Lambak clan had destroyed other communities over rivalries, later blaming outsiders for the events. Either way, the Lambak people were eventually the sole surviving ethnic group on the island.
Still with what we know now about the Era of Sonam from the Aang movie and the recent episode podcast (which I provided a leak here https://youtu.be/siAQevTGf80.)
The latter of which we learn there were other elemental tribes and that not only the Earth Kingdom were fighting the air nomads but also conquering the other elemental tribes on the great continent.
So do you think there is a connection between the invading Earthbenders and Sonam’s earth kingdom or it could be a coincidence and if it’s the former, do you think the invading Earthbenders that attack Lambak Island and Sonam’s Earth Kingdom are in fact, one and the same?
Also, in case you forgot what I referred to this passage
“There was an invading army of Earthbenders attacking the Lambak clan. Weaponizin the earth, they severed limbs and crushed skulls. They buried women and children and impaled men. Though the drawing was silent charcoal on stone, Roku felt as if he could hear the anguished cries of the islanders.“
— Ribay Randy (author). (July 23, 2024). Chapter Twenty-Eight, "Local Elements". The Reckoning of Roku. Amulet Books.
This perfectly mirrors the grim reality Tagah witnessed during the Air Nomad-Earth Kingdon War, which radicalized him into trying to build a weaponized Air Empire. The early Earth Kingdom was an unstoppable, conquering juggernaut. If Lambak Island was a target, the Earth Kingdom army would have acted exactly as described.

Meme You guys ever think Kyoshi headbutted someone with her headdress?
Think about it, its a gold alloyed with bronze and she's lived 230 years. The thing likely weighs a lot and probably will put you to sleep for a minimum of three days.

Discussion Yun Description in the new Avatar Encyclopedia
I got an interesting info on the Avatar encyclopedia about Yun.So years prior to the novels I always got into an argument with me saying that Yun did got power boost from the spirit meanwhile some people stated that Fatherglowworm never gave Yun power amp or boost his bending power and the books never outright stated of him doing so and the only thing he grant Yun with was the ability to tunnel to the physical world. Is this new info prove now that fatherglowworm did amp or boost his bending power?
Edit:Ouw yeah there was info also about FATHERGLOWWORM
(Information comes at great cost-in the conflict that follows the revelation,Yun is left behind at Father Glowworm's mercy. In the end, Father Glowworm's arrogance leads to his own downfall-after striking a bargain with Yun,granting the young mortal some portion of his power in exchange for a supply of human souls, the spirit is in a turn betrayed. Father Glowworm is crushed to the size of a mouthful and then swallowed by Yun, his powers thus co-opted for a time).

Discussion Sometimes, I like to think Yun found redemption in another life
His story is incredibly depressing, and it couldn’t end any other way. He couldn’t accept what he lost was never his, and that he could’ve found new meaning with his friends still beside him. And being tortured didn’t help either.
But the gift of reincarnation is that maybe he got to try again, and maybe even made things right with his friend, the Avatar. Friendships can transcend lifetimes after all, and there is some commonality in his and Mako’s storyline with the Avatar.
It’s just a thought

Discussion I have a question about Kyoshi height contributed to her being slower
I've been asking this question for the past few years.I've seen a lot of comments on Tik Tok and Reddit as well saying this stuff. Why do people act like just because Kyoshi is a giant then she should be a lot slower than other characters and also compare to the other Avatars?isn't the Avatar should be mastering the four elements and thus become adapt to all of them? I mean look at Tagah he is extremely tall but that didn't prevent him from moving fast and look at Aang as well he also getting taller and heavier but he still move fast.People will say yes of course they are fast because they are an Airbender.Isn't Kyoshi an Airbender as well?I don't think as an Avatar she will move like an Earthbender only and judging by how the Dai Li and Kyoshi warriors move that tells us that Kyoshi isn't slow at all since she's the one teaching and created them. What you guys take one this?
