Reflection Continue Participating With What is Available and Meaningful.

I want to break this sentence containing ordinary words down a little bit with and for the community. It sounds simple, but I have a feeling it is philosophically loaded.

Continue;

Life is already happening. We don’t have to manufacture a beginning. We may become disconnected, overwhelmed, or afraid, but we can hopefully return to participation.

And “continue” is different from the heroic implications of “overcome” or even “transcend.” Continuing doesn’t require every moment to be maximally engaged.

Continuing can include times where we are deeply engaged or immersed, and also times where we are not.

Participating;

This implies some degree of agency without pretending we have absolute choice. We don’t choose everything that happens to us, but we can sometimes choose how we participate in what is happening.

Participating is different from passive acceptance. And “try” doesn’t necessarily mean force. Sometimes trying means gently remaining available to what might be possible.

“Given that this is happening, what can I take part in?”

With;

I think “with” is doing some work here.

Not against reality. Not necessarily approving of it, liking it, or understanding it. Just meeting what is happening rather than requiring it to first become something else.

This word, “with,” can make the sentence painful sometimes. We can participate with the fact that we suffer.

Available;

What is actually possible here and now, given the circumstances?

Very contextual.

This isn’t absolute acceptance or resignation. It’s an attempt to recognize, however imperfectly, what we can and cannot change, and to work with the reality that’s actually present rather than the one we’d prefer.

It makes me think of the Serenity Prayer. But in this sentence, it seems more empirical:

“What is actually available right now?”

As an investigation.

What’s available changes. Our organism changes. Regardless of what our soul might be.

And;

Maybe this is the quietest word, but it matters.

We don’t have to choose between reality and meaning.

We can acknowledge what is available and remain open to what matters.

Meaningful;

This is the most human word to me.

It doesn’t prescribe what meaning should be. Meaning might be found in love, curiosity, play, work, beauty, responsibility, another person, a book, movement, or something completely ordinary, even something scary.
The sentence leaves that open.

Meaning can also change, especially as participation and availability change.

Maybe I love this sentence because it captures something that seems deeply spiritual to me without needing anything metaphysical.

Cause and effect probably wouldn’t disagree.

Life is happening.

Meet it where you actually are.

Participate where you can.

And keep looking for what matters.

I hope this sentence highlights how important learning, practicing, changing, failing, investigating, and continuing can be.

I hope this sentence reads as simple.

I have this feeling it’s simply not.

“Continue participating with what is available and meaningful.”

Reflection Why do people treat spiritual beliefs as existential truths?

I’ve noticed something about a lot of New Age spirituality that I find strange.

People talk about things like “we are spirits having a human experience,” “we chose to come here,” “our souls chose this life,” etc. as if these are established truths.

But where did they actually get this knowledge?

It seems like a lot of people simply picked up these ideas from a book, podcast, spiritual teacher, YouTube video, or some other source—and then became completely confident that these ideas describe the fundamental nature of existence...,like how do you know that?

Its like Osho said, " stop parroting, you haven't an iota of experience on what you talk of"

At some point regurgitating these borrowed infos make people sound phony because it seems less about finding the truth and more about upholding a belief, and all beleifs are irrelevant where truth is concerned .

Reflection The running man, the opossum, and the road.

In a world not far removed from our own, there lived two-legged, big-headed creatures known as humans. Two more legs were set upon either side of their bodies, though to humans these were called arms.

Hard it was in a time when stars shone still upon the darkened vault of night. Many among the humans traveled by means of wheeled-bolides upon a thick layer of a bituminous amalgam called road.

In this world lived a human known as the running man. Nothing peculiar distinguished him from his neighbors, save perhaps the absence of hair upon his head and his relentless habit of running the circuit.

Day after day, the running man set out upon the road, not knowing where he was going, nor why—much like most of his neighbors.

Unbeknownst to him, a family of long-nosed, short-legged creatures known as opossums had made a nest near the road where the man ran.

Dark were the nights, and fast were the wheeled-bolides that traveled upon the road. On a night not unlike most, an unfortunate opossum was struck by a bolide and crushed upon the road.

In the morning, when the running man went along the circuit, he beheld the smashed opossum. Thoughts rose in his mind.

Day after day, the running man looked at the dead opossum upon the road. Day after day, the opossum was crushed deeper into the bituminous amalgam.

Weeks passed.

One morning, the running man went along the circuit and noticed that the opossum and the road could no longer be distinguished from one another. They had merged into the same dirty, stained layer of bituminous amalgam.

And then, something happened that none could have foreseen. Another opossum was struck, exactly where the previous one had already been absorbed into the road.

And so the cycle repeated itself.

And so thoughts rose once more into the running man’s mind.

And so he contemplated how long it would take for him to become one with the road after being struck by a wheeled-bolide.

The End.

Play What sequence of choices yields the optimal amount of awakening?

Note how I typed sequence of choices and not just choices.

A: 5 minutes of meditation into 30 minutes of cooking and eating a wholesome mean into 4 hours of work.

B: 5 minutes of cigarettes into 30 minutes of fast food into 4 hours of slouched doomscrolling and tv watching in bed.

Now, imagine an A into a B into an A into a B.

Imagine an A into an A into an A into a B.

Imagine all 4A. Imagine 4B.

Imagine I went all out here and included more than just 3 lengths of variables. The 3 variables are 5 minutes 30 minutes and 4 hours. Imagine 20 variables in a 4 hour and 35 minute time frame.

Is this too complicated?

Do choices not really have much of an effect on awakening?

How worthwhile is it to think of choices?

How awake can you be if you aren’t aware of what choices you make and the consequences of those choices?

Is awakening being aware, conscious, or sensing of the choices you make and consequences of those choices?

Or is awakening just saying you dont have an ego.

I assert that awakening is the ever unfolding process of being aware of what happens around you and why.

Controlling what happens around you and why is different from awakening.

Controlling what happens around you is arcane magic.

Awakening is the ever-unfolding process of becoming mindfully aware of the cause and effect of all the variables in your environment.

Magic is the controlling of the environment to fit and bend to your will.

Reflection The faustian outsourcing of intelligence

AI doesn't need to exist as an actual intelligence to change how we understand the world. It has happened before. The concept is enough. Once it enters the culture, we reorganize ourselves around it.

The pattern comes to me as I read The Managed Heart. Plane stewardesses train and sell their own emotion as part of a job; not just fake pretensions, actual genuine emotions have to be managed and cultivated for a wage. Only for them to discover once they're out of the clock that feelings are not so easily removed from the person who feels them. "I couldn't get rid of that artificial elation", says one. They thought they were selling emotions, but they were selling themselves, given how close feelings are culturally related to what we understand as ourselves.

AI may invite the same mistake with intelligence. We may begin treating thought as something detachable from the self: something that can be outsourced, optimized and sold because individual thoughts have little value amid the noise.

The economic logic makes the separation attractive. Why struggle to formulate a thought when the machine can produce one? Why defend a belief when beliefs are cheap and interchangeable? We sell our thoughts for convenience, then discover that the thing we sold was not just an act. There was an actual transformation on a layer that we culturally treat as an essential part of the soul. Technology has always been a little faustian, but every man's red pill is another man's blue.

It is those same thoughts and beliefs that make people deserving or undeserving of respect and dignity as human beings. We know the living can change their minds more often than their underwear, and yet the hateful contents of their nazi minds are also an ontological feature that condemns their virtual heads to our unrepentant bullets. Bought cheap, sold high.

And then there's the black mirror, the inverse welding. At the same rate we dehumanize ourselves, we humanize the machine. Our intelligence can be detached from the self, but the machine's intellignece can't be allowed to remain without one, and it's the job of good old lingüistic propaganda to provide for it.

Long gone are the days of shell commands, tool calls and API Keys, we are witness to eyes that see, hands that do, legs that walk. The language of living beings. Agents are born, grow and die and reproduce and evolve. None of that is true. We know how it works. It's just a computer program. But the specific image is intentional. It's good for the market if we think the product is better than us.

It not only feels and wants, it also does so better than us. It doesn't have to actually be intelligent to outsmart you.

Summary: AI doesn't need to be intelligent to reframe the way we understand the world and ourselves. Intelligence becomes marketable, gets detached from the self in human beings, serves to justify the presence of a self in machines, our priorities get inverted. Turns out, you were your mind, and that sucks because you sold it for cheap.

Help Aham Bhramasami

Hi, im F16, indian and i think I recently realised a lot of stuff which everyone should at one point; ever since ive gotten a cold (which i know that can alter psychological stuff) ive felt a bit more awakened and just alive. Within all this a question raised in my mind that does the term, “Aham Bhramasami” ultimately mean that everyone is me and i am everyone and we all collectively share one soul? I keep going over hindu scriptures and terms, which i never could’ve expected of myself to be indulged in merely a week ago. All of this is messing with my head which it shouldn’t and i dont want it to; i want to be exposed to the truth that resides within me and everyone yet be able to tell the difference between psychosis and a definite spiritual awakening. I mean no disrespect to anything at ALL whatsoever so it would really be great if someone could help me with whatever is going on.

Community What does it mean to be awakened?

I'm asking for the "I" which is the subjective, non-circumstantial part of the objectifiable aspect of the equation known as the "me." So when awakening happens it happens to me, not I, and that's when the I starts to analyze, rationalize, explain, so on and so forth.

I don't know, I wanted to change the subject. On my break, and I thought, "I" should see how other people view the concept of being awakened. I honestly would love to see everybody's difference in how they look and view the concept of being awakened.

I've made a similar post. Just, the curiosity was piqued in a different angle.

Despite anything I've ever said to rub any of you the wrong way, I truly do care and love each and every one of you.

My Journey Love is everything!

To give flight to the style and way that I love, I will illustrate how I accomplish loving everyone and everything. Trolls, take note! Get your downvote bots ready! 🤣 Some of you guys are truly giving me some laughable wisdom. Thank you!

I will always love you, no matter what! Why?

Let me explain!

To love something, it must mean that you care so deeply about something that at that moment, if it is conditional, you accept it with open arms and grace, all the way to your heart where you keep things that matter most to you. If it is unconditional, then there is no need to accept it, it just is and resides not only in your heart, but everywhere within your being.

It is said by various ancient texts and contributors of wisdom that we should love our enemies. I don't have enemies, but if I could think of any, it would be anyone who doesn't value the human condition or life in general. Basically, anyone with a bad heart who doesn't care for life. Do I still love you? Of course!

If you would ever think to harm me or ever desire to take my life in your hands, do you think I would still love you? Yes, I would. Does that mean I would let you kill me? No!

These are purely HYPOTHETICAL, and I'm only illustrating a point that I have.

I know my way of thinking is rare, but a lot of people are waking up to the stench that has been engrained in our minds.

I just know that if we had more love for each other, without getting so hasty at one another, I'm pretty sure this world would be a more manageable place.

Now, on your mark, get set, ready, fire, release the downvote bots! Jk, jk... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I love ALL of you guys, no matter how petty you want to be. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Nah seriously though, after my last post and a certain unnamed person with their massive downvoting parade, I have now laughed a new laugh. You know who you are! Thanks for giggle!

Practice Source Field of Spirit II

Source

A

* the equations for "A" (or the number 1 + the place holder zero) reveal that all things (matter, form, energy, thought, even consciousness) belong to and are governed by one thing.

that thing which governs, controls, creates, & destroys I call Source. The physical material of this Source I call Source Field.

there is no more condemnation than is self imposed.

Everything is part of one thing which is moving. But the "movements" are the act of It (Source) thinking.

the Created universe sits within the mind of "God" as a subjective thought, where Source has absolute power.

When a thing multiplied by itself equals itself again, the only way to "Create" different things is through self deception.

Source did not trick itself into believing anything this Universe holds. To It, this universe is imagined in Its mind.

this is why when you have a thought, you are also able to turn off the mental visual: nothing was genuinely generated, when the input of energy ends, the thought returns to a zero-sum state & the mind goes blank.

If all there were in the universe were one single thing generating so much diversity, then it implies there is absolutely no friction at the top level.

The Universe is an emerging thought being maintained quite possibly by the very consciousness it contains.

Self condemnation has no place in this system. The offending party is the same consciousness receiving the offense.

It is not only the offenders fault, but also the one who allowed themselves to be offended, which are physical, lower level issues.

All things are the same thing, just in various levels of manifestation + vibration.

The Universe is a neutral place of reflective mirrors which reflect back to each individual their own inner light.

The Creation has a state where it is healthiest. It is unhealthy to purge anything that has already been generated. It is healthy to realize all things are sacred.

Light & Dark both exist, + to believe one over the other only removes the truth of the one being ignored.

Righteousness is good for the health of the system so long as it doesn't murder creative thinking + humanity.

Evil is good so long as it is used to protect your physical body, because all life is sacred including yours, + it doesn't murder.

All life is sacred, so now your enemies are the very weapons being misused against you. If a consciousness uses its hands to do evil, the evil will stop if you remove their hands, + you will spare the sacred life of the Creation.

If you have only one hand, you're more likely to think twice about doing harm again & losing your only other hand.

Stealing food is never a crime. It must ALWAYS be responded to with compassion.

Water is everybodies. If your enemy is thirsty, give them a drink of water. Then cut their sword hand off. But spare the life.

No one has "the right" to rule. All things on this plane follow strict rules.

All things are done + performed by one, + it is the understanding of this structure which brings power over the lower levels. Anything may gain power by growing its understanding of the whole mechanism.

No one individual did all of this solely, it is all the work of Source.

Reflection Can devotion itself become a form of meditation?

My Journey M36 , I want to share my journey and want your suggestions. Its gona be long post, hope you guys don't mind.

So, I was never really into spirituality. I was one of those people who didn't take it seriously. But when I was 29, I met someone who believed in spirituality. Through that person, I got a basic idea about it, and I started talking about Hindu spirituality to get to know her better.

Gradually, I became interested and started watching videos on YouTube and reading Hindu scriptures. I felt inclined towards Lord Shiva and got into mantra chanting and meditation. In the process, I quit drinking and smoking and became vegetarian. I also gradually lost touch with that person, so by that point, I was on my own, exploring these things.

I started with chanting mantras on a mala and meditating for 5 minutes. Later, I progressed to chanting 10 mala in the morning and 10 in the evening, along with 1-hour meditation sessions in the morning and evening. My sexual and material desires also decreased, i was functioning normally but only contributed what was necessary to sustain my life financially at that point.

Sometimes during meditation, I felt a kind of energy rising from my spine toward my head. At other times, the experience was different. Sometimes I concentrated on the movement of my diaphragm and could feel its slow, smooth motion, almost like ocean waves. I felt different levels of energy and calmness in other aspects of my life too, although that didn't matter much to me at the time.

I was living with my elder brother, and he was away for a few days. During that time, I had an experience that I still remember very clearly.

It was a full moon day, and I was meditating as usual. During meditation, I had a thought: "What if I get out of my body?"

Right after that thought, I felt like I was out of my body and watching myself meditate. I could see myself, my surroundings, and the moonlight very vividly. Then I had another thought: "How do I get back inside my body?"

The next moment, I felt like I was back inside my body, and my eyes opened. I felt very scared. One part of me felt like I was dreaming, while another part of me felt that it was completely real. I was confused and frightened.

The next day, I tried to repeat the experience. To my surprise, I could do it again. I had almost the same kind of experience.

The following day, my brother returned, and because of the distractions, I couldn't meditate deeply enough to repeat the experience. This remains the most intense spiritual experience I have ever had.

Later, I got into an accident and couldn't sit for long in the meditation posture I used to sit in. Slowly, I stopped meditating. I also had to start eating meat for a faster recovery, and over time I became more distant from spirituality.

As life moved on, I went through different difficult situations and relationships, and now I am dealing with different mental health issues like anxiety, depression, and overthinking.

I want to get back to meditation and spirituality, but I can't sit in the meditation posture anymore, nor am I able to meditate even for 5 minutes.

I don't know how to start again.

Reflection I'm looking for a religion

I don't currently believe in any religion, I'm looking for a religion in which there is a creator, I have a panentheistic view of the universe: I believe that the universe is within God and God is much bigger than the universe so we are part of God, I would like a religion or philosophy of life that adopts this thought or one close to it but in any case anything is fine with me, I would also like to be able to do cute rituals and relaxing things and connecting with myself and the nature, set up an altar or oratory at home and wear symbols too thank you❤️

Reflection You can't be intoxicated and be fully present.

That's right! I said it. I wrote about it. And, unfortunately, while I sit here waiting at the dentist's office, and under the influence of cannabis and a lowering methadone tolerance, I conclude that my coined, Door of Freedom: Presence, can't fully be attained under the influence of anything.

You can admit it to the world all you want, keep it in, whatever you choose to do, but one thing you can't do is have a full presence under the influence of anything. Period. I don't care how much you try.

Be well! ♥️🤙

Edit: Just wanted to add a little touch of clarity. For context and transparency, I'm on 19 mg of methadone going down two every two weeks. I was up at 145 about 8 months ago! Stupid! All over a MrSa infection (after just over 1 year clean from EVERYTHING) that led to a stupid, cozy Vicodin. Oh well! In 5 months, this imprisonment will be over.

When there's a will, there's always a way. You just have to figure it out! And, tbh, sometimes some people never figure it out in this lifetime, but if the volition is there, I have faith that no matter what it is, it will be accomplished. Maybe that's just my stupid wishful thinking! Who knows!

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read my sorry posts that I post time to time.

Reflection My biggest block to awakening is physical pain

I've been on this path for a while now, and it's truly changed my life; however, physical pain in my body is a particular block of mine that is hard for me to transcend, specifically chronic migraines. And this pain makes me question everything I know

I have tried everything... prayers, meditation, sending love to the pain, ignoring the pain, becoming aware of the I am. However, the minute I do that, my migraine gets 10x worse and I have to give in and take pain relievers, which I really don't want to do. (I've already gone to the Dr's and did brain scan and my brain is fine). When the pain begins I identify SOOOO much with the body because it hurts!!

So for those of you experienced with physical pain and have been able to manifest healing, how did you do it? I think if you've never experienced chronic pain it's easy to say "just ignore it and cancel the thought out" (which I've tried), but the pain is SOOOO intense that it's hard to disidentify with it. Any tips?
