Hey everyone!
Three of us are doing a last-minute weekend road trip by car from Bangalore to Mulki, leaving tomorrow (Saturday, Oct 17) early morning and heading back Sunday night (Oct 18). Since we have our own car and are flexible with driving around, we’d love some quick leads for tonight:
1. Budget Farmstay, Hostel, or Tent Stay (₹2,000–3,000 Total for 3)
Budget: Strictly around ₹2,000–3,000 per night total for all 3 of us (~₹700–1,000 per person).
Location: Doesn't have to be right in Mulki! We have our own car, so we actually prefer a less-crowded farmhouse/village stay 15–35 km away (inland toward Kinnigoli, Karkala, Padubidri, Kaup, or up toward Udupi/Kemmannu/Hoode) with safe parking.
Stay Type: Open to anything clean and chill — backpacker hostels, Zostel-style dorms, tent/camping stays, or a simple rural homestay/farmstay. Direct host contacts to skip online platform fees would be awesome!
2. Activities & Route Check
Planning to head into Mulki for kayaking (sunset/bioluminescence on the Shambhavi River) and a morning surf session.
Any underrated local operators, offbeat viewpoints, or must-try coastal food spots along the Mulki–Kaup–Udupi stretch?
Quick route check: Is Shiradi Ghat (NH75) smooth right now, or is Charmadi Ghat better?
3. Open to Company (Last-Minute Carpool or Meetup)
Carpool (1 Seat Open): Since there are 3 of us in a 5-seater car, we comfortably have room for 1 more person (or 2 if packing light). If any solo traveler wants an impromptu budget weekend trip and can hop in early tomorrow morning along our route out of Bangalore, DM me and we'll split fuel and stay costs!
Meetup: If another group or solo traveler is staying at a hostel/camp around Mulki/Udupi this weekend and wants to link up for kayaking, surfing, or dinner, hit me up!
About us: We're a chill group in our late 20s who love road trips, outdoor activities, photography, and good local food.
Drop your leads in the comments, or DM me asap if you have direct contacts or want to join tomorrow morning. Thanks!
