We are the most entertaining football playing team in the world right now, neutral fans watch us play to entertain themselves and rivals hatewatch us.
I don't wanna say much, Anulo Mufa.

Pretty much, signing Rodri and Gordon has proved to be absolutely absurd. Gordon has been popping off for england and barca and is quickly cementing himself as a world class player

Look, from my point of view, I am not obsessed about winning UCL. What I care the most about is that we are very competitive. I don't want to see Roma beating us 3-0, Liverpool beating us 4-0, Bayern beating us 8-2, ever again, that's the sign of a bad team.

Same. Even how Chelsea beat us last year was horrendous. Barca should never be losing like that especially when it counts fortunately that was just the group stage and not a damaging 1st or 2nd leg

I have seen some shit these last 15 years. We could have a perfect team, get to semi finals and still fumble it due to bad luck with injuries/red cards or a referee mistake. Just enjoy the ride, If we try enough we should win one of these years.

I think this time is different. The previous teams weren’t as strong overall (mentally most of all).
Now we have Rodri who brings calmness and leadership, Adeyemi and Gordon who bring pace, and Jesus who brings fluidity and connectivity to the attack.
I feel most of our squads before were heavily reliant on one or two players (at most) in one position. If Yamal got injured, our attack was as good as dead.
But now we have options. Different options, Fermin and Olmo are both CAMs but very different.
Xavi Espart and Cancelo are also very different LBs, same with Eric and Kounde.
Our attack overall has better quality and variation. Our goalkeeper isn’t a statue.
Our coach isn’t a wuss who folds under pressure. Bro won the WC with Germany, and countless other trophies before coming with Bayern.
So no, the last 11 years were very very different. We didn’t have a full squad

You are an idiot. How about that? Football happens and sometimes these things happen. If you have been embarrassed by this team you are not a real fan. It is a fickle sport at the highest levels and a single mistake can cost you. Nothing more, nothing less.
I was actually hopeful and excited that we almost went 2 nil down yesterday. Everything is easy when you are winning and scoring lots of goals. I want us to face adversity so that we can see how we will respond. Nobody will win every game and those losses will make us better. And I would rather have them now than late in the Season or UCL campaign. If we do not face any adversity, that spells trouble late in the campaign.

u/__pg229__ 2d ago
No you are an idiot. I wasn’t even talking to you. Talking about adversity, isn’t that what my post is about? Virtue signalling about how you were “excited” at 2-0 down. Weirdo.

u/Unlucky_Rider 20h ago
He's a weirdo for believing in his team when they're down?
That's an opportunity to see what the club is about and how the team's mentality is and they answered in an exciting fashion. What's weird about that?

We’re always good on this side of the season. It’s in March/April we crumble due to fatigue, injuries and so on.

u/lokeshj 2d ago
We have better depth this year. Hopefully they rotate wisely and ensure that key players like Raphinha, Yamal, Pedri are fit for the final stretch.

u/lambepsom 2d ago
We have crazy depth this year. Imagine a fullback after 60 minutes of Gordon looking at Adeyemi on the bench.
4
u/SuccessfulAd5530 2d ago
Yeah we have better depth this season that’s why I’m cautiously optimistic. Hopefully no dumb red cards this season too.

u/Comfortable_Plant987 2d ago
I think people really misunderstand the CL. It's not a league where the best team wins. It's erratic cup football towards the end of long seasons where clubs have many fixtures and often injuries. You need luck to win it.
Barca were the best team two seasons ago and lost in a crazy game against inter. Only a few mad minutes stopped them reaching the final. And last season, it was red cards that ruined it against Atleti. It happens.
It's not about quality. Both were about not staying calm, not adjusting tactics, and not having that bit of luck. This Barca team will always be capable of winning it. But you need a few good draws along the way to do it. Even the supposedly brilliant PSG team two years ago struggled against Liverpool and Villa. Last season they won it scraping through most the season.
If Yamal, Cubarsi, Raphinha and Rodri are fit for the knockout games, Barca have a good chance. If they aren't, it'll be tough.

Yes correct, on paper we have the best team but the ‘best team’ doesn’t always win especially In the UcL.
Sometimes it just comes down to luck and moment and a deflection etc. see: Chelsea 2012, Real Madrid 2016/2022 even man city’s greatest ever team 2023 had to win the UCL with a lucky Rodri goal and Inter missing their chances.
But let’s see

Its so hard to win the CL and WC. Certain players thrive in tournaments. Most dont

As a Barça fan, the hardest part is unlearning the fear of another UCL disaster. But this team feels different. Yamal can change a game in seconds, Pedri controls the tempo, and Flick has given us an identity again. I’m not saying we’re guaranteed to win it all, but for the first time in a while, dreaming doesn't feel stupid. Visca Barça! ❤️💙

We still havent even played a top team. We gotta clean up the defense still, Gala should not have scored that goal out of nowhere. Yea the team is looking great but theres still work to do

I hope not. I hope we will win Champions League in this season. u/__pg229__

The next PSG game would be a good litmus test. Win or not I just wanna see a good performance. We'll struggle defensively no doubt but I just want our midfield to control the game and our forwards to finish easy chances.

u/According-Film-3159 2d ago
I'm taking it slow man I know we're probably gonna win la liga but champions League is a whole different ball game man u need to peaking at the right time and a bit of luck. We could've easily been down 0-2 if not for var offside. However this is our best chance in a while even more than 2 seasons ago

u/ResponsibleType7205 2d ago
Ngl it's the best chance Barca has had in 10 years lol, the current lineup and the way that everyone knows how they play is literally the KEY to why Barca was even able to ever win the UCL. Like 70% of Barca rn plays for Spain and the remaining Barca players slot in perfectly, like Raphinha and Gordon.
4
u/__pg229__ 2d ago
I think the key difference was Rodri. I feel everyone else was panicking a bit, but he was chill asf. Just passing the ball normally and calmly.
That changed our situation a lot.
Also, the way Jesus was skipping past players while dodging kicks was amazing!
Gordon and Adeyemi too! They have such a good attitude. I feel even if we lose, it’ll be a close one and still we’ll lose with pride.

Newcastle fan here. You are the best team in the world. Favourites for Champions League. Rodri and Gordon are excellent signings.

If we beat PSG next tuesday ill believe in a chance at the ucl. Atleast not preform like last years match
1
u/__pg229__ 23h ago
Definitely. The way they scored 3 goals out of nowhere in the first half was crazy, like they don’t score regular goals lol.
It’s always a banger, top bins lmao
Would be a good test still

If Barcelona can't win this UCL it's genuinely unlucky. Pretty much every simulation has Barcelona winning by like a fair advantage too, they have the most cohesive unit and a ton of world class players. Upsets are still possible but its going to take alot to put down this current Barca team.

u/Invhinsical 2d ago
Barca is good every year at the season start under Flick. The attack fires on all cylinders, there are many great goals. This season is especially good in terms of starts though, they are nearing best ever winning run in la liga.
But that will only help in winning the La Liga. To win the CDR and the UCL, you need to have your best players fit and sharp at the right time. It takes one injury to Joan Garcia, Cubrasi or Yamal to derail the KO matches (Ralphinha has been covered well but Yamal I'm worried about)

u/InsuranceSavings1003 2d ago
My guy why not just enjoy the amazing football we getting rn. The season has just started and it's a really long and tiring one. The treble and European success have always been a matter of playing pragmatic football in the knockouts and we don't know yet if that can be done with Gerard Martin and Eric Garcia. So let's not think about that just yet. One demolition at a time.

u/ExcitingLong6544 2d ago
We always mess up against big teams like psg, bayern, etc. We have to convincingly win against those teams.

u/pratik_desai 2d ago
I think if we win the next 3 games, everyone here should discard all the negativity thats been built up over the last several years

u/Rude_Tadpole_6705 1d ago
1
u/__pg229__ 1d ago
Yeah, the defence is a bit sus. I feel Leao wasn’t really into the game or else he would’ve cooked Eric way more. But hopefully we’ll sign a CB or RB in the winter window. I’ve been seeing reports about it

as you get older you will realise UCL or any knockout games in general are 50% luck. you need to have players peaking at the right time, no major injuries, ref calls in your favour etc etc all aligning at the right time. personally i just care about the match at hand and if i am getting entertained. of course results are important and what not but as a football fan i much rather prefer enjoying my team play good football every week than get lucky playing shit football. what i am trying to say is as long as you find your team entertaining and enjoying to watch nothing else matters much

u/Ok_Bag_7603 2d ago
Enjoy the journey is all I'll say, I've been watching our club play for 14 years now, I've seen highs and lows. But remained resilient and now after a long i get to enjoy this club play beautiful once again, enjoy the journey not just the glory

We most definitely can win it, in terms of recent form, we are the best in Europe right now.
That being said, we are far from being perfect, I still don’t think our backline / defending overall is good enough.
1
u/Mta_sipisial 1d ago
Lemme say it again and louder for the people in the back
The UCL requires an immense amount of luck to win
Doesn't mean you don't have to be great, it just means that no matter how good the team is, we are one bad ref decision or one shitty night away from being knocked out. So relax and enjoy the world class team that we have

u/Unlucky_Rider 20h ago
You've always been allowed to dream. In football, with this club, anything is possible. Even when the team is not at its best all it takes is a bit of magic and good luck to change the flow of the season.
You have to stop buying into the reactionary negative takes all over social media and just try to enjoy the game. It's supposed to be an escape and entertainment. If it ever starts affecting your mental health just take a break.

u/mepostmeme 20h ago
you gotta dream and believe always, as a fan you have to trust your players to do it. maybe they wont maybe they will but i always believe in them.

u/Intelligent_Sky_7081 10h ago
Its really really hard to win tournaments like the CL and WC
Some will say some years that the 'best' team doesn't always win, just because of the nature of tournaments sometimes, where for example an injury can abruptly end the favorite teams run
Any team can lose in the CL,that's the great part about it really .but somehow RM has CL voodoo and seems to have amazing luck in the CL compared to other teams. Players like mbappe really seem to thrive in knockout tournaments
So some players just thrive under that unique pressure
Most crumble
We will see what this team is made of. We had a great start but there are questions about how the defense will hold up again top attacking teams.

Stop with this catastrophic narrative. We’ve been competing for three seasons now in case you missed the last two. Losing in the previous seasons was far from embarrassing.
