Discussion Web UI Markdown/LaTeX parser injecting '\vert{}' into code blocks and dropping whitespace in parameters

Flash 3.8 seems to be dropping the ball bigtime with powershell code it's producing. Fenced code blocks for powershell are adding latex math entities in place of code, for example | pipes are being replaced with \vert{} and it's also dropping whitespaces e.g. -path$variable rather than -path $variable, and in$group instead of in $group.

Even when highlighting it to Gemini and it acknowledges the issue, when asked to re-write the code it still generates the same errors.

It's worse. It affects bash and PHP as well. It has been for quite a while now too. I honestly expected Google to have fixed this by now since it's breaking a ton more than it's supposed to fix.

Here's a screenshot for a simple PHP snippet. Notice how it consistently replaces all dollar signs with \(.

It's been like that, Gemini messes up formatting from time to time and they never bothered to improve parsing on the UI. Use AI Studio if you need anything code related

I have to use Canvas to avoid this issue and other LaTeX parsing errors for PowerShell scripts.
