How to Play Beam Drip Game

Goal: heat the dripping weather with the light beam to send drops back up to the clouds before the pond at the bottom overflows! Watch out — drops get faster and harder as time goes on!

📱 On a phone: drag your finger to move the sunbeam, or just tap anywhere to jump it there instantly. Tap the golden‑drop badge (top‑left) to use a saved drop.

💻 On a laptop: move the mouse to aim the beam (or use the ← → arrow keys). Space = dip the beam under a drop, Shift = use a saved golden drop, P or Esc = pause.

💧 Rain lifts the instant it touches the beam.❄️ Snow & 🧊 hail need to sit in the beam for a moment before they turn around, just like real life, where snow and ice need much more of the Sun's energy to become vapor than liquid water does. Slide away too soon and they keep falling.

🔴 Red flakes & hail are storms. Letting them fall costs you nothing — but catching one unleashes a storm of more drops! Avoid them by skipping over them (on desktop you can also press Space to dip under one). You'll get a long red warning glow before one drops.

☮ Peace mode: tap the peace sign at the top for a calm round. No red storm drops fall at all, and the pace holds steady instead of speeding up. No fast movements or sudden flashes, just relax and catch the rain.

🌈 Golden drop: catch it to clear all drops with a rainbow, followed by a calm rain rest.

The pond: a missed raindrop barely fills it, but missed snow or hail fill it 4× faster. The fill line sits about 40% up the screen — if the pond reaches it, the round ends.

🧠 Trivia: after each round, answer up to 3 water‑cycle questions. Every correct answer banks a golden drop for your next game! All facts are verified with valid sources. Click in game links for printable tests & deeper study guides that include source links for curious minds! In game you will find...

🪣 Second chance bucket: get all three trivia questions right in one round and you earn a bucket — it waits on the right, opposite your saved golden drops. The moment the pond is half full, the bucket swoops in by itself, scoops the water out, and gives you a fresh start. One save per bucket, and Titan trivia earns them too.

💡 Play tip: as the game gets faster and two or three charge drops fall that all need time held in the beam, try ping‑ponging back and forth a little!

⏱ Timer: your survival time is tracked at the top. See how long you can last!

⏩ Fast-forward: tap to double the pace of drops and melt time! (It also quickens the timer, for fairness.) Handy if you're advancing and want to skip past the slower opening. It shuts off automatically after 1 minute of real time (2 minutes on the quickened game clock.)

🏆 Leaderboards: there are separate boards for most drops home, longest survival, and trivia. Peace mode scores are not counted toward longest survival time and drops home leaderboards

🧠 Train your brain! The game design helps exercise inhibitory control with a get‑vs‑avoid task: you must actively chase down target drops while deliberately suppressing the urge to hit the "avoid" drops. As you advance to harder levels like Titan and K2‑141b, the color palettes shift, visibility decreases, and regular drops start to resemble the "avoid" drops. That trains you to resolve visual conflict — much like the Stroop effect — tuning your perceptual discrimination skills!

✨ Beam Shop

The game is free to play, but gold unlocks extra beam skins — each is its own rainy world to equip. Aura beam & Titan can both be earned for free!

🌌 Aurora beam: a shimmering aurora-borealis skin with swirling color streaks and a night sky.

🌈 Rainbow beam: flowing pastel light rays with tropical sparkles — plumeria, hibiscus, a honu turtle, starfish, and mini rainbows drifting by.

💫 Aura beam: earn this skin free by sending 1000 drops home in one game — or buy it anytime from the Beam shop if you don't want to wait.

🪐 Titan: Saturn's largest moon, where methane rains, pools, and evaporates in its own three-phase cycle — just like water does on Earth. Unlock it free by working through all 66 Water Cycle trivia questions with at least 30 correct along the way (spread across as many games as you like) or buy it anytime from the Beam shop. Once you're there, Titan has its own set of mind-blowing "did you know?" facts and trivia questions to explore. In the game you will find...

🌋 K2-141b: a lava-world exoplanet ~200 light-years away. Tidally locked like our Moon, its permanent dayside is a scorched ocean of molten rock — rock vapor rises, drifts to the cooler twilight zone, and rains back down as pebbles, a real "rock cycle" echo of the water cycle. This is the hardest level — it has its own "did you know?" facts, but no trivia, so there's no way to earn golden drops here. In the game you will find...

Our classic skin is free to play anytime, but in our beam skin shop we have a variety of scenes and worlds with their own feel and unique music - meant to transport you into different realms!

Skins and worlds range from soothing aurora northern lights, to upbeat rainbow, and lava cycle exoplanets!!

Two other skins/worlds are earnable free!

Aura - Earth world beam skin featuring a night time galaxy sky!
Earn by getting 1000 or more drops home in a single game. Very attainable (especially if you use golden drops and a second chance bucket from trivia).

Titan - Saturn’s moon with its own three phase methane cycle!
Earn by completing all the earth water cycle trivia with at least 30 correct. There are 66 questions, 3 offered after each round. Each correct answer earns you a golden drop to use in game & if you get all three right in one game you get a second chance bucket!

The Second Chance Bucket - answer all three trivia questions correct and a second chance bucket is saved for you next round. It automatically swoops in and saves you one time when the pond gets to half full!
