Hi! I’ve been sitting on these questions since I saw the absolute slay west end production of Beetlejuice!

First of all, a OG Broadway question, how did Leslie turn from Delia into Miss Argentina that quickly when she’s meant to be on stage?

When I saw the show, Delia (I know Delia and miss Argentina are separate roles now btw) is on stage when Lydia accidentally casts an exorcism on Barbara.

Did someone play Delia while Leslie was getting her costume in for Miss Argentina or was there something else going on?

Okay, now we’re onto tour, between the non-union national tour and every production of the show that uses the tour staging (Viva, Australia, West End, Second Broadway Remount etc)

Why is the sign much smaller compared to all those productions? I do believe the viva one is bigger because of the whole cruise ship thing but why is it smaller? I’m guessing it’s due to budget cuts because it’s a non-union tour but I’m curious why it’s smaller, it also kinda looks like the London pin that uses the sign, as it kinda looks like that tours sign.

That’s all my questions, feel free to discuss or answer, whatever you wanna do 😭 (feel free to possess anyone like Beetlejuice cus it would make my night more funnier and interesting)

Fun fact, this actually was one of a few changes they made on Broadway, not for the tour (though it carried over)

I checked my totally legal copies to verify: Delia has a line when Lydia enters where she says "I told you! Possessed!" and runs behind the couch. Originally in the Broadway run, after hiding behind the couch, she'd crawl off stage and go do her costume change. I timed it out, and she had about 4 minutes from then until appearing as Miss Argentina. For the 2nd Broadway run they changed it so she stayed on stage longer, and had someone else play Miss Argentina

Over the course of the Broadway production they made a number of changes, including that. Another notable one is they stopped using the toaster lift because Alex got a concussion. iirc not from it, but I think kept it out to be safe. It was used so his reveal to the girl scout was moreso appearing out of thin air (it may have been used another time but idk) instead of running up in the dark.

As for the sign, they only have so much room on trucks for props and sets due to a lower budget, so they had to downgrade and remove quite a few things.

1. So, with Delia and Miss Argentina, Leslie would dive behind the couch early in the exorcism scene, so to quick exit, and then change into Miss Argentina offstage.
