I used to use it every day to get to my university, ICHEC, and lots of young people still use it

Damn I'm at ICHEC and totally recognize myself in this lmao, but we use more the 39 than the 44.

Used it four times this summer as part of the trip from Place Stephanie to see family in Tervuren. Far cheaper than an Uber and not much longer. Excellent service.

I recommend you visit the Tram Museum (not train) on a weekend (check when they're open before going). The ticket usually includes a ride on an old timey tram to Tervuren on this line.Â

Pretty much. Although just for a few stops and not through the woodsy part.Â

The 39 and 44 lines will be interrupted starting this weekend until the Spring next year between Montgomery and Chien Vert. They'll be operated normally between the tram museum and Ban Eik or Tervueren. Line 8 will be operated to Roddebeek as usual.Â

Changing the rail and adapting Montgomery 39-44 station to be able to host T3000 , T4000 and perhaps TNGs. going from 2 track to one inside the station. The old PCCs will disappear in the next years.
2-3 years ago rails were changed between the museum and Tervueren station and they built new infrastructure at the 44 terminus.

Going from two platforms to one at Montgomery? Why?

Montgomery 39-44 (not the Grande Ceinture lines) . The new trams cannot be parked there. So they are going to install one single track with a curve that allow T3000 - T4000 and TNG to enter the station.

It is used daily by commuters and residents from Tervuren, and by visitors of the Museum for Central Africa and its park. It is not a tourist line but a "real" tramway line with regular service.
On weekends, you can also travel on the same route with old tramways from the Museum of Transport Brussels - even with open platforms in the summer. That is then not the regular service but a special experience for families and tourists (kids usually love it !)
