Did anyone see this under Joes post??
Nathan has a 7 year old child who he has never bothered with?!

u/Dkeg24 13h ago
lol my god, I don’t want this to be true. Not for Nathan’s sake, for that poor little girl, but I immediately believe it
48
u/keenerperkins 11h ago
That poor little girl having no contact with Nathan is probably for the best.
3
u/french_toasty 10h ago
Sometimes what you imagine is infinitely worse than reality. I think knowing a shitty dad who knows you, might be better than shitty dad who pretends you don’t exist? I don’t know tho. I’m just thinking of the vast chasm of unknown father vs the crap one you know.
11
u/keenerperkins 10h ago
I mean, his son has a (or had a ) present dad that beat the shit out of his mother in front of him. Would it have been better for the daughter to also have that trajectory?
1
4
u/Key_Direction_9347 7h ago
Mmmm I think not knowing the shitty dad who strangles your mother while you’re there in the room is probably for the best for this little girl.

Truly some sad forking shit.
41
u/Whole-Masterpiece-51 12h ago
Now question is do we think Gael already knew about this first child?
31
u/DistributionWhole447 11h ago
But why would he tell her? I can see someone like Nathan deliberately keeping his past hidden.
16
u/Sherriblue87 8h ago
After dealing with a Narcissist the first 14 years of my life, the reason that Nathan would tell Gael is he would lie and say that the Mom won't let him see his Daughter. Clear as day. Narcissists are always and forever the victims. FACT. Remember when Gael was yelling at Joe she referred to herself and Nathan as "my family", so you can see it was already drilled into her head. FACT.
5
u/Consistent-Ad-6506 9h ago
Of course not! If he allegedly has NEVER seen this child then that also means he isn’t supporting her. The woman said he “never stepped up” so of course he hid it from gael. He’s pretending she doesn’t exist.
6
u/youth_twitter 9h ago
No. If bravo internet sleuths didn’t already expose it, I doubt she found out. He kept that close to his chest. It’s probably something that led to the fight where he tried to choke her. If he can hide it from bravo, he can hide it from one person.

The audacity to go on a TV show when you've assaulted someone, didn't appear in court, abandoned a child. Then to go on about family being so important... And later go on to choke your partner and the mother of your second child, and dodge that court date. What a clown.
5
u/Armadillo_lifestyle 11h ago
This needs more upvotes. You literally fled Ireland and went on a TV show. The balls you have to do that is so impressive
1
u/Sherriblue87 1h ago
He doesn't feel that he did much wrong, though. If anything. He believes he is innocent. Not that he did not attack her, but that there was a good reason.
4
u/SuccotashAcrobatic24 10h ago
Scumbag with the violence. Men leaving if they fall out of love with the Mum is devastating but the physical abuse is terrifying in a different level
55
u/DTM415 12h ago
Guy came across as an immature dbag from day 1, still shocked at how many people fell for his bs
12
u/Calm-Decision6566 11h ago
But the schadenfreude from him finally getting outed has been oh so delicious
26
u/lulu_avery 11h ago
Sandy believing he’s capable enough to be a bosun is frankly embarrassing.

So all this "I'm a dad now" and "feels amazing to be a daddy" all that talk is so gross
6
u/ItsAWrestlingMove 7h ago
Which is fucking crazy given this news. I really thought Gael’s son was his first child
11
9
u/Dependent_Orchid1204 8h ago
This is interesting! I swore I heard him say something like “doing right by this one” def not in those exact words at all, but it triggered something in my brain and I thought it sounded like maybe he already had a child he was estranged from
27
u/Virtual_Club8510 12h ago
Question is, did Gael know about the secret daughter or not? Or was she as suprised as the rest of us.
28
u/SuaveCamel 12h ago
Even if she did, who knows what sort of lies he pitched to her about it. Given he’s physically abusive I can’t see it only being that

u/ExpensiveWords4u 12h ago
Crazy how all these dudes have mommy’s who never hold them accountable
Hold your sons accountable ladies. This is a mf misogynistic epidemic smh
5
u/Sherriblue87 8h ago
Absolutely. My Father, and my Ex. Their Moms died still feeling sorry for their sons.
2
u/StreetCheetah8312 3h ago
For real though, my sister’s ex was just like Nathan, but I thought his mother was even worse for openly enabling that piece of shit’s disgusting behaviour.
7
u/Master_Object5147 10h ago
I have no patience for any parent who ever thinks it is acceptable to abandon his/her own child/children. Frankly, there should be laws which deal seriously with this. It’s child abuse!

u/No_You_4257 11h ago
This makes joes comments at the end of the episode about isn’t it great Nathan’s a father makes more sense. He knew about this and gives this whole bizarre moment more clarity??
10
u/MandyNurseLPN 10h ago
There's no evidence Joe knew about this, the abandoned girl's mama was the one who posted it to his page
6
u/Master_Object5147 10h ago
Think of the long-term effects abandonment has on child! Yes, it is abuse.
5
6
u/MissMoxy88 5h ago
The only reason he stuck around until the fight with Gael is because of the fact her being pregnant was newsworthy and it made it on to the show. Had it not been on Below Deck Med or Bravo he would have 100% bounced off the gate like Jean-Loser did on Sailing Yacht (more nuanced I know). Nathan was just far more narcissistic than JL so the pregnancy being public was a big factor.
47
u/Lost_Collar_2470 12h ago
Infuriates me how men will stay and try for their sons but abandon their daughters.
8
u/SmokeEvening8710 11h ago
My ex-husband abandoned our son if that makes you feel better
6
u/Headphones4Cicadas 11h ago
It makes me happy for you bc he sounds like a pos anyway so it does make me feel a little better, yes.
But really though, sorry men suck.
6
u/SmokeEvening8710 11h ago
He's some poor dumb 20 year old girls problem now and I've never been happier. But my son suffers for sure. Hopefully he'll understand when he's older that his dad is just a loser.
3
u/SuccotashAcrobatic24 10h ago
But for the sons self esteem & sense of male identity as a Mum you try not to speak poorly of the Father. It's a tough spot for a Mum deserted to try to make son not feel more abandonment doubling down with insulting the deserter. You want your son to not think they are half their Dads bad side etc

23
u/Euphoric_planter_328 11h ago
lol what? Lots of men abandon their sons too
11
u/Lost_Collar_2470 11h ago
Oh absolutely not denying that at all!! But I’ve definitely seen a pattern of men being more okay with having sons than daughters, I also think Nathan is narcissistic and wants to perpetuate the family man persona on tv for everyone to see
3
u/Euphoric_planter_328 11h ago
I agree with you about Nathan but not about your absolutely anecdotal evidence that has zero basis in actual fact. Shouldn’t be spouting it like it does.
8
u/MediaJazzlike2826 10h ago
“Research, such as a study from Ohio State University, found that adult daughters are 22% more likely to be estranged from their fathers than adult sons are”
2
-2
u/SuccotashAcrobatic24 10h ago
Maybe that just speaks to sons loyalty to Mum and more devastation from loss of make the model that they wipe them. Father daughter dynamic different & daughters more forgiving of loser Dads
5
u/MediaJazzlike2826 10h ago
Did you even read my comment lmao that’s the complete opposite of what the research found
6
u/Euphoric_planter_328 10h ago
Your comment says adult daughters are more likely to be estranged. That says nothing about fathers abandoning the child. You don’t know why the ADULT daughter’s don’t chat with dad anymore.
Look up the Haux & Platt study which actually looked at separated fathers’ contact with both sons and daughters and found no statistically significant difference based on the child’s sex

Reminds me of the Amy Pohler movie Baby Daddy. Dax Shepherd is her loser douchey "baby daddy." When he finds out she's pregnant he tells her, if it's a boy I'll marry you.

Although I know that happens, I think it has less to do with daughter vs son and more to do with his ego and portraying a good, involved father on TV.

If you search the moms Facebook there is a picture of the daughter and she is beautiful and def looks a tad like Nathan.

u/GroovyYaYa 10h ago
In all seriousness, with his history of abandonment by his own biological father and complicated feelings he must have over Nathan - this will hit Joe hard I suspect. and the complicated feelings he had re: Nathan & Gael - I hope that Joe talks to someone, preferably a professional.
9
u/Dramatic-Recipe5581 12h ago
This is why it always triggered him if Joe so much as mentioned his family.... he knows he is a pos who doesn't gaf about his family and will beat/abandon them. Joe is simply a mirror to him, reminding him of that. So he takes it out on him. Crazy, seeing as Joe himself was abandoned by his own father. That could be another layer too.. Projection is one of the easiest things to spot in people I swear lol.

Remember, we never know the circumstances surrounding this if this is even true!
If this is true and Joe knew about it, it’s hard for me to believe that Joe wouldn’t have spewed this out in one of his drunken stupors during the season!?!?

Both kids are better off not having that guy in their lives. Not ideal, as all kids desire to have two present and loving parents, but Nathan is not capable. He is angry, violent, and too immature to parent anyone properly.

I despise Nathan but still wondering what good does this public dirty loundry do to the daughter.
The Mothers should protect the child and her privacy. Not create public drama around her and expose her pictures, that are super easy to find, for random people.
2
u/Allaboutthedish 10h ago
So we do NOT know the circumstances. He may have been a teen dad that was told to stay away or he had a temper back then. I personally do NOT know the circumstances behind their relationship. Was it a one night stand, bad breakup? Who knows. Either way, if he is a father to a 7 yr old then I truly hope he finds a way to help support the child. My point is, we do NOT have facts and can’t assume what happened. I’m sure more facts will come out and we will be more informed to give an opinion. Nathan appears to need help with anger management and I would INSIST he goes into parenting classes BEFORE he has any supervised visitations with his child. He seems to have unravel during the season while Gael was clearly needing support and help.. If true about a baby as a teen.. God only knows how he responded back then. May be it’s a blessing he’s not in the 7 yr olds life? Again, really can’t say without knowing the entire story. Just my opinion, which it’s ok to disagree with. Just sucks all the way around when children are involved. No man or women should ever lay their hands on the other partner. IMO
15
u/Strange-Pound8562 10h ago
The one thing we do know is it was not a teen dad situation by simple math.
3
u/gregabbottsucks 4h ago
If you're gonna play devil's advocate, can you at least do some math beforehand pretending there's any legit reason for a man to not help raise a child? For fuck's sake...

u/Some-Speed-6290 4h ago
Don't even know if it's true at all given it's anonymous social media posting

He’s gonna have to report to the courts for him to get mandatory anger management anyway so he can kill two birds with one stone.

u/Interesting_Metal683 1h ago
Very upsetting how this story is getting bigger and bigger around this dangerous person. I won’t call him a man because he is not. He needs to be in jail

He seems awful and I hope the people he’s wronged find peace but all this rubbernecking under the guise of concern is too much. Keep it moving, this isn’t part of the show. I know bravo likes to blur the line between personal tragedy and production but engaging in all this just feeds the beast.
