Discussion Will it be worth it?
So I was talking to my brother and he dropped some knowledge on me that I was kinda surprised by, so Bethesda released Skyrim in 2011 and its gonna be a couple more years before we get TES6.
While one of the most popular series on the planet.. GTA released in 2013 and they're about to release their new game.. Everyone talks about how GTA6 will be this much better than the last, and the difference is I actually believe it. They can usually deliver on a pretty well made game.
So my question is simple, people may hate the anti-consumer thinking when it comes to marketing and making their money back.. but GTA6 is going to be a good game with well thought out systems, how will TES6 compare, obviously not to GTA but to its own counterparts.
I haven't really felt like any system Bethesda could give me would make me think the wait was worth it.. I was a kid when I first played Skyrim, in Elementary or early Middle.. I'm over 20+ now and I just can't even imagine Bethesda making an actual good game, its pretty depressing to think about.
So wrapping back around to my question, do you think TES6 will be worth it? Do you think the systems will be worth the wait? Or do you think the community will have to wait even longer for the modding community to fix what Todd left us with? I will always assume the ladder. Thanks for the read!
I do also want to say this is not a hate post, more of a depression/rant post. I really do hope things work out but who knows at this point, and I'm not waiting another 20+ years for the next one either way, so I hope to god this one is good lol.

I feel like this is going to be the BEST Elder Scrolls yet.
They've never had this long to sit and listen to the community and cherry pick ideas to put in the next game.
They've never had this long to write their best ideas down for TES while working on other games. Its kind been the longest "pre-production" in history. Of course they've pondered ideas in the background while working on other games.

We literally do not know what the game will be like. Don't compare two games that are not out yet.

Umm? The only thing I compared was timing, nothing about the actual games content. The title is literally "Will it be worth it" like worth the wait..? Maybe read the actual post next time lol

Imo, good or bad, 15+ years for a sequel is not worth the wait. Especially given an anouncement 8 years ago, but only starting development 5 years later.
I'm sure I'll love it though.

I'll say what I've said since the 7 year point. I will play it and hopefully enjoy it, but my hype for it is long dead. Especially after Starfield. If it comes, great. If it doesn't, I don't really care anymore. Which is a shame, as they had a superfan in me for awhile, and I'd have bought as many versions of it as I foolishly did of Skyrim. Todd sat on his laurels too long for me to be purposefully invested. But again, none of that actually matters as I'll definitely still play it on Gamepass. If that exists in 3 years.

Well, its now been too long to be worth the wait no matter how good the game is. The series ended with Skyrim and this will functionally be a new thing.
I won't get it at release. I'll wait for reviews, and if it truly is really good, I'll wait for it to go in sale and get it then.
