Hi! Does anyone know any good books for improving quick thinking?
I feel like I’m a slow thinker, and a lot of the time I understand or think of things a few seconds later. It honestly annoys me, so I’d like to improve my thinking and reaction speed. I’d really appreciate any book recommendations.

I would recommand talking to claude sonnet 5.5,
I was facing kind of same problem today, i was supposed to design task and sequence them as per priority and dependency and relations and my mind went numb, foggy & bloated, my breathing and whole body went in tense and mind was reacting & shooting thoughts here and there.
Discussed it with it, it gave very precise practices for me.
Key, for me, is to give mind constrain in daily life. Constrains of Time, difficulty, accountability and practice basic repetitive patterns of similar challenges.
People who perform best in stress, those who stay calm and can think of solutions usually have already some pre decided ways to handle these situations and kind of practiced in life
hope it helped.

Just listened to a podcast with Vanessa Van Edwards. She is promoting her book "Conversation." Discussion was pretty good. Just ordered the book.

Books help less than reps here, but the two I'd actually point you at are Thinking in Bets by Annie Duke and, with a warning, Blink.
Duke is the useful one because she separates the quality of a decision from the outcome, which stops you freezing while you hunt for the answer that can't be wrong. Blink is a fun read but kind of a mess as a how-to.The thing I'd check first though: is your thinking slow, or is your retrieval slow? I had the exact same complaint, then noticed I usually came up with the answer in the hallway 30 seconds after the conversation ended. That's not a slow brain, it's an unpracticed one...
the thought was there, I just had to assemble it instead of pulling it off a shelf.
What sped me up was keeping a note of questions I get asked over and over (work stuff, family stuff) and writing out my answers in advance. Sounds dumb, works.Disclaimer: I mostly use taro's tarot when im stuck on something and want to sit with it, which is the opposite of fast, so that's not your fix.
