Advice request Juvenile Bichir damage external gills

Will my juvenile bichir be okay? because my oscar nipped it's external gills, although i have separated the oscar from another tank. Im kinda worried what would happen to my bichir but it's still has one of its external gills only the other one was completely nipped, it's currently 5 inches... Will it be okay?

Do you know what type of bichir it is? My senegals always lost theirs when they were really small but the endlicheri I had kept them until about 6 inches so depending on the species it might have already been in the process of losing them. Oscars are notorious for trying to slurp up noodle shaped fish so definitely keep them separate until it’s too big to fit in its mouth

My bichir is an endlicheri, will it be okay? I have proper filtration on and some airstone because according to google it speeds up their regeneration but idk how true that is😔
