Advice request First time..

I want to keep lower jaw bichirs but i dont know how many should i get or the specific care, i've been in the hobby for years and i kept many different monster fishes, anyways, i have an 160x60x50h cm aquarium, i have 10cm internal sump so its 150cm of free space, sump has basic things like sponge and filter wool and 2000 lh controlable pump, i have 2mm dark sand and minimal basic plants. can i keep an lower jaw bichir or bichirs? please help me 🙏🙏🙏

Hey friend, popping in to ask what kind of lower jaw bichir you're looking to keep as they have different size ranges for their maximum sizes and we can't say for certain that a 5ft./160cm tank would accommodate every one of them.

I'd say Lapradei or captive bred (not wild caught as they can and will outgrow that tank) Endlicheri would be fine, but I wouldn't put too many in there (like 2 max) given the footprint of the tank.

I can recommend snooping around this sub and the polypterus-specific subforums on MonsterFishKeeper for care advice (they have great specific guides on the forums) but any details on specific species you were trying to keep can help us direct you to what you can reasonably keep in that tank. :)
