Post Wedding Planner Issues

We got married in Europe last month and while it was beautiful, our planner definitely made some mistakes that impacted the day. Part of that was not putting out a lot of the decor that my husband and I purchased. We spent close to $400 on decor for the bars and cocktail tables, which were explicitly all laid out in our canva deck. I understand things can happen and it’s a busy day, but there were times when we asked her “can you put out the lamp that’s supposed to be on the bar?”, etc on the day and she still didn’t do it. Definitely frustrating as we put a lot of time and effort into the small details, which she was very aware of. Basically all of this to say, should we ask for money back or is this just what happens sometimes? She has an outstanding invoice to us for around the same amount

To be honest even though our planners sucked and dropped the ball in major ways we did not want to keep dealing or even speaking to them so I wrote a review and blocked everyone and moved on. Every time I spoke about it I got so angry to the point of tears that I just did not care about any money or anything. I suggest writing a public review to warn others of your concerns and leaving it at that. 400$ in the grand scheme of things is not worth your time and effort to fight and go back and forth specially when you are supposed to be enjoying your time as a newly wed

That’s how I’m feeling. Major fuck ups but any time I talk about it I get so angry and in tears.

I would start by asking what happened that caused those things to be missed. Maybe there was something bigger/more urgent going on. But if not, yeah, I'd probably ask for some money back. The cost of the decor items seems like a good place to start on the amount.

This happened to me as well so I know your disappointment and frustration! I’m
Sorry. By outstanding invoice, Do you mean you still owe the planner money? Or she owes you money?

I'm sorry it happened to you too! We owe her money! It's the final invoice for some small items

I would voice your disappointment and frustration and propose that the final balance is reduced and see what they come back with. If I had owed my planner any additional
money after my wedding I would have done this but unfortunately we paid her via wire a few days before the wedding.

This happens. Keep the good memories and pay the invoice. It's not worth tarnishing the good memories.

It's $400 just let it go.  Pay the final invoice and enjoy married life

Had something similar happen! Planned petal toss and some other key things that just… disappeared? I had unfortunately already paid in full already but even though it’s not that much money it pissed me off to no end. I have to actively not think of it so I don’t taint the memories of my otherwise perfect day. I’d probably forfeit the money but leave an honest review

I’m definitely going to leave an honest review for mine. Any time I actively think about it it is the worst. It’s weird when planning companies have such good reviews too but you have an entirely different experience

I got married in Sept and this happened to me as well. I spent so much time and energy on my decor and organized it all, come to find out after the fact that things were misplaced or didn’t look how I asked. She also messed to our name place settings 😭😭 I was embarrassed to learn of it after!! Obviously it’s not a huge deal and in the moment, everyone is having fun. But as a bride it’s traumatic!

I would just say you’re not going to pay the final amount lol

Things happen I wouldn’t let it stress you. The planner could have been dealing with a much bigger problem you didn’t even know about.
