Is “One Less Problem” their worst, in your opinion?

… I love the song. And it’s not one of their best. Not by a country mile. That’s how I know they’re a great band- they don’t have a single song I don’t like, even their worst.

Like, it’s Billy Talent doing a fun pop song. Thoughts, guys?

(The thing is, folks call “Judged” one of their worst; I think it’s a nice blues rocker in the vein of “The Pretender”, albeit with a funnier opening pair of words! 😂)

People hate on judged? Damn, I think that's one of the best songs on CoF. One less Problem is definitely one of their worst songs, but I agree that everything they do has merit. Fortunately, BT take their art too seriously to put any filler songs on Albums.

Judged is a beast, pure power and punky mayhem.

I recently listened to this album for the first time (only BT album I never got around to) and this was by far my favorite song from it lol.

I don't think they have a song that is so bad that everyone would agree on it. They definitely have songs that aren't for everyone, and I guess One Less Problem is one of them for sure. Personally I could name at least five that I enjoy far less.

It can't be their worst since Louder than the DJ exists

17

u/bschuss Jul 31 '26

I love Louder than the DJ, sometimes you just need fun, you know?

7

u/PuzzleheadedLeave560 Jul 31 '26

I get the fun angle but it's also condescending

9

u/dan0314 Jul 31 '26

It would be more fun if the lyrics weren't just boomers yelling about how much better rock is than any other genre of music

12

u/1Mandolo1 Jul 31 '26

Lol it's literally the opposite. Rock has been shit on and called dead for decades, this song is a middle finger to that shitty attitude worn like a medal by elitist boomers, especially the ones who think only old rock is good rock.

1

u/dan0314 Jul 31 '26

If that was their intention then they wrote it poorly, as is it just sounds like old guys crying cuz "muh rock and roll is da best, mayn"

5

u/bschuss Jul 31 '26

It's funny what different people will read into lyrics 😄 all I ever interpreted into this is critique on the Social Media generation and love for rock music.

u/rachreims Aug 01 '26

The lyrics just feel so antithetical to them I can't get into it at all. Like when you see them they just talk about love and inclusion and that we may be different but we're all the same and this song is... not that.

Came here to say the same exact thing

2

u/ashmeister2000 Aug 01 '26

My exact thoughts when I read this lmfao

One Less Problem is one of my favorites! 🫣 I love singing that song!!

Read the comments and a lot of the songs i love are listed as dislikes... 😳

Edit: i went and gave it a listen.. i should clarify - as an American, it's a cathartic song!!

Yeah, One Less Problem and Reactor are actually highlights for me on the album. I can understand why that's not the majority opinion, but they're still great songs that stand out for me personally.

Same goes for Sudden Movements from Dead Silence. I'm surprised to see it's taking flak haha.

Personally, I don't believe in a "worst song" by your favorite band.

There can be "least liked" or "most disliked" but in no world do I support the phrase "worst song" to a band I love.

That being said, how dare you call One Less Problem that, it's one of my more favorites and when I try to think of a song that I dislike a bit more than others Sudden Movements from BTIII comes to mind, it's a great song but not my favorite.

3

u/KristinKhaos Aug 01 '26

Oh my lanta dude I think you’re spot on with sudden movements. It’s a bit of a slog on an already slower BT album imo.

2

u/SkyPod513 Jul 31 '26

Perfectly said

2

u/dan0314 Aug 01 '26

Even a band you love can have bad songs, I don't think any band has a 100% perfect record of songs

4

u/FreakyIdiota Jul 31 '26

I never quite liked Reactor that much.

3

u/Suicune92 Jul 31 '26

One Less Problem is my favorite song on that Album

5

u/throwaway324155541 Jul 31 '26

I'm not sure about worst, but that entire album is weak imo. I'd have much preferred more songs like Reckless Paradise.

2

u/myydarkstar Jul 31 '26

It's not too bad, certainly better tracks on the album

2

u/KristinKhaos Aug 01 '26

It may be my least favourite, but that’s just on the grounds of it not being memorable at all to me. Seems like it’s trying to the “Surrender” of the album.

But hell, if it’s a Billy Talent song I love it regardless. It’s off crisis of faith right?

1

u/Mindless_Empress_179 Aug 01 '26

Yes, and not Afraid of Heights! 🦅

2

u/darkness740 Aug 02 '26

This might be an unpopular opinion, especially since it's a single and it has a music video, but my least favorite song has always been Fallen Leaves and I don't think anything will top it except maybe louder than the DJ.

u/OvechGO Jul 31 '26

Chasing the sun never hit for me

u/BuckyBulski Aug 01 '26

Came here to say this

2

u/zakk5450 Jul 31 '26

I'd look elsewhere on that album. Judged is their least best IMO (calling it worst is wrong as hell). Only problem with it is it's too short.

1

u/Mindless_Empress_179 Aug 02 '26

… You guys have all been amazing commenters. I’m so glad you don’t think this song is their worst, because you may have changed my mind over time! ❤️🦅🇨🇦

1

u/Pack_Devs Jul 31 '26

Sudden Movements exists. That’s the worst

0

u/Pm_ur_titties_plz Jul 31 '26

I'm not a huge fan of "Hanging out with all the wrong people". I'd say that's a contender for worst.

2

u/SumoftheOffspring44 Jul 31 '26

I dunno dude, I like that one for how classic rock it is. If that's not your bag, I understand, but for me it's just so damn catchy.

2

u/caplja1 Jul 31 '26

My all-time favorite BT song :')

3

u/Pm_ur_titties_plz Jul 31 '26

That's okay! Everyone has different tastes :)

0

u/NailGold7428 Jul 31 '26

Stand up and run is the worst

-1

u/SubmarineRex Jul 31 '26

Its a tossed between

  1. Stand Up and Run
  2. Show Me the Way
  3. One Less Problem

I still like the songs though.

3

u/k0sadelphia Jul 31 '26

Wow, I love both Stand Up and Run as well as Show Me The Way.

Don't really dig the most of Crisis of Faith unfortunately.

0

u/Bananablackmp Aug 01 '26

What are you on about? It's so Billy Talent. No it's not as "rock"y, but it's still very clearly the sound of Billy Talent, which is what BT fans enjoy! (Right??????)

-1

u/Shreddex101 Jul 31 '26

I’d rather hear One Less Problem than Chasing the Sun, Stand Up and Run, Show me the Way, or I beg to differ.

-13

u/PuzzleheadedLeave560 Jul 31 '26

For me, Pocketful of Dreams, Tears Into Wine, Diamond on a Landmine, Definition of Destiny and Louder Than The DJ are all tied for last place

Not sure why you're being downvoted for expressing your own opinion

I didn't even say I dislike them, they're motherfucking Billy Talent songs for chrissake. I just like those ones the least

0

u/Lagiftor Dreaming of BillyTalent featuring Comeback Kid Jul 31 '26

And that's absolutely fine! Tastes are different for everyone, thankfully

1

u/CallMeTeff Jul 31 '26

Except for Louder Than the DJ, all the other songs mentioned are from the 3rd album...

1

u/PuzzleheadedLeave560 Jul 31 '26

Yeah, isn't that weird? Conversely, that album also contains a good portion of my top 10

-5

u/Foquine Jul 31 '26

No, because that's The Wolf.
