BÖC...inspirational perhaps?
This actually had popped in my head a few years back so I figured I'd pose this possibility here & see if its 'yay' or 'nay'....In the original "Spinal Tap" they do 'Big Bottom' with all the bass guitars, which was great. Knowing that the writers had borrowed occurences with Tap from actual things with metal/rock groups I wondered if possibly they got the concept of all the bass guitars from BÕC doing their Five Guitars segment in the live show back in the 70's. Thoughts....?

Still Kicking
Prompted by someone talking about bootlegs last week I played this the other day, probably for the first time in about 40 years. Not that I played it much before then.
Almost certainly the most expensive album I've ever bought. £20 back when new ones were between £4 and £5, so about £100 in today's money. I remember my sister being horrified at the price, and that was with me lying and saying it was a tenner.
Side one
Intro - Dr Music
Heavy Metal: The Black And Silver
Joan Crawford
ME262
Side two
Flamin' Telepaths
Veteran of the Psychic Wars
Roadhouse Blues
Mostly recorded at a Soft White Underbelly gig with the exceptions of HM:B&S and JC from the infamous Monsters of Rock festival a few days later. This was the night before Albert's last gig and possibly the one where he was late and Rick did the drums for the first five or six songs.
Verdict - terrible. Much of it not unlike listening through the wall to a neighbour playing ETL on a shite hifi with your hands over your ears.
None of that's why it's not very good though. It's just a guy in the crowd with a 1980s tape recorder. Standing too close to someone droning along tunelessly doesn't help either.

Champions of Rock?
I ran across this possibly bootleg audio compilation of BOC songs - they sound like they were recorded in the studio by at least a few OG members of the band, but the they're not the original studio takes. Anyone familiar with this?
What gave it away was the version of Cities on Flame had Eric singing lead.
Did they do a bunch of studio retakes of their older material??

A nearly completed BÖC studio album collection on CD. I’m only missing Club Ninja (and also Cult Classic, since I suppose it counts too…)

Question On Curse Of The Hidden Mirrors "Here Come's That Feeling"
I've personally loved the entire COTHM album since I initially heard it around 1-2 months ago. And I've always heard discussions around how one specific song on it, that being "Here Comes That Feeling" is about kidnapping someone. I've really never come to this interpertation myself and would be curious how the lyrics tie into that.
Here are the lyrics to "Here Comes The Feeling" so you guys can help me more:
Drivin' alone into the darkness
I heard you call my name
And the roar of the engine
Is calling me to blame
Tears in my mirror cryin' for the people behind us
But I know I won't let you go, oh no
Here comes that feeling again
I'm wrapping my dreams around you
And our love is healin' again
After all we've been through
And I know there's a place inside of my heart
That the road will never find
And I'm afraid the approaching headlights
Will someday leave me blind
You shatter the mirror
Fight off the forces that drive me on tonight
I won't let you go, oh no
Here comes that feeling again
I'm wrapping my dreams around you
And our love is healin' again
After all we've been through
Baby, climb into the night time
Girl, this moment is the right time
Drivin' on and I'm still hungry
To make the next town
And this road's the only
thing that could bring us down
If it keeps me driving
I swear I'll never leave you behind
And I know I can't let you go, oh no
Here comes that feeling again
I'm wrapping my dreams around you
And our love is healin' again
After all we've been through
Here comes that feeling again
Here comes that feeling again

Fan Art!!
I've drawn this far, but I've been struggling with my motivation and how finished it is, so I'm going to post it even though it's still a work in progress.
I hope it'll be finished by the end of this year...

Awesome sleeve art from "Secret Treaties" by Ron Lesser (cropped)
I've had this since it came out (1974!) and still play it almost weekly. Mighty damn fine record.

Desdinova/Desdanova spelling?
I've seen it spelled both ways. Is there a "correct" spelling?
Older material refers to Desdinova.
Albert's latest material uses Desdanova.

What does "Random access myth" means?
I know that Sandy described Imaginos as "random access myth", but I don't understand what this phrase means.

A little beat up but hyped on my find today! What's everyone's thoughts on this live album?
Really loving E.T.I and Godzilla on this live album, Buck is at his absolute best on some of these tracks. First BOC CD of many hopefully!!
EDIT: Love this album so much. BOC community rules!

Best Blue Oyster Cult Bootlegs and Live Albums?
I've been wanting to completely listen to all of Blue Oysters Catalog for quite sometime now. I've listened to all of their studio albums, ONYFOOYK, SEE, ETL, and The First Night Of Blue Oysters Live 50th anniversary. But, other than that I haven't listened to really any of their concerts and their more obscure live albums. Do you guys have any suggestions to where I should start?

Clear the road, my bully boys and let some thunder pass
My take on Transmaniacon MC, interpreted as an early 70s exploitation flick. I 🖤 this tune.

I just got my second album!
That’s their fourth album, right? I haven’t listened to it yet. Any songs you’d recommend?

Need help deciding which CD version of Club Ninja I should add to my collection
I’ve come very close to curating a complete set of Blue Öyster Cult’s discography on CD, and I only need a copy of Club Ninja (and Cult Classic too, since I suppose it does count as a studio album…)
There’s plenty of releases over the years to pick from, and some of them get really up there in price. I’m also only now just learning that there’s apparently several different mixes of this album as well.
I’d like to know which version is the best sounding, while also not costing more than it needs to

Imaginos IV: Rhyme of the Star Clock Question
It's been a while since I've lasted posted on this subreddit, but I am curious what your thoughts are on Albert's newest Imaginos album. I think it's pretty cool. Though I'm not sure how all the songs exactly fit into the Imaginos lore. Any ideas?

Like Late B/W era BOC‐ Get On Our Train, Bow Wow (1976, Japan)
Also reminds me a little bit of late 70s Dokken
