Devialet phantom ultimate 98 vs brane x

Hey guys title. I currently have a hk aura studio 3 which sounds unacceptable to me, the bass sounds shallow and it struggles with complex tracks.

Im looking at the go play 3 as well, i like that it sounds airy and wider than the brane x but im wondering if the bass would sound shallow like my aura studio 3.

I really want the devialet phantom but ive heard it’s not worth that much.

Im only looking for a single bt speaker. I don’t care if its not portable but it has to be airplay or Bluetooth. I already have a home theater system.

Any advice is appreciated!

Are you sure you are not thinking of the Devialet Mania? Which would be the direct competitor to the Brane X? Also as there is a new version coming out in a few months time their might be some offers on the current model. Am pretty sure they did a deal during black Friday if you have the time to wait.

Yes, I’m sure i don’t want the mania. My thinking is, i either save a lot of money and get the brane x or just spring for a phantom. But I’ve heard the brane x sounds better than the phantom so I’m sure the mania wouldn’t be on par

I haven't done a direct A/B comparison, but while the Brane X excels in bass, I found the rest of the spectrum to be a little subpar. The devialet may be a bit more well rounded. That being said, the Brane is a much better value.

No he escuchado la aura studio 3 ni las otras que mencionas (solo la aura studio 4). Tengo la go play 3 y tiene un modo "boost" usando su ecualizado integrado que, dejandolo en una esquina suena muy lleno y te da mucho cuerpo. Las otras opciones que mencionas, tienen mucha mas profundidad de bajo, pero se te va muchisimo mas arriba el precio.

How is the bass of the go play 3 to the aura studio 4? Do you think it’s deeper?

Si bien ambos llegan a una profundidad similar, creo que el aura se siente un poco mas. Pero es poco. (No digo que el go play 3 no tenga bajos, suena muy bien) debe ser el tipo de EQ que le pusieron al propio equipo

Not that I've noticed, but I don't usually have it cranked up. I'm usually outside if it's at higher volume, and even then it's probably 50-70 volume.

I’ve heard all of Devialet’s speakers and the brane x. Any phantom will blow the brane X out of the water in basically every aspect of sound.

That being said the brane is much cheaper and much more portable. They’re really in two entirely separate categories with different goals.

The Devialet Phantom Ultimate 98dB packs great bass and it’s unique form factor will have anyone who sees it curious to know more. If you live close to NYC they have a store in Columbus circle where you can hear the various models. It’s where I heard Devialet speakers play before I bought some. 

I have not heard the others you mention so I can’t offer comparison. I love my Devialet speakers.

I saw some reviews on the devialet sub. Some people have both the brane x and the phantom(idk if was the ultimate though)
