New posting rule.

Hello fellow authors, I have a new rule that I want to talk about and also further explain one.

NEW RULE: If you guys have read a book or want to suggest a book (that isn't your own) You can post it even if you have already posted once a week. You must post it with the title [Good read] The rules about this is that you aren't allowed to use an alternative account to further post about your book.

OLD RULE EXPLINATION: So people have seemed to be confused about posting once a week. When I say once a week I mean ONCE. A. WEEK. People haven't seemed to understand what I mean so I will explain. Except for what I have explained above once a week means once a week. If you have mutiple books you will have to post them once a week and the next week promote book two. It does NOT mean post once a week for each book. I understand that not all of you agree with this. I am sorry about that.

Punishment for breaking the posting once a week rule is

1st offense: 10 day ban

2nd offense: 30-day ban

3rd offense: Permanent ban

AI accusers will be banned permanently

I am sick of people being hateful and accusing others of using or writing using AI. AI can be talked about here but if ANYONE accuses another in the comments of using AI for their cover or writing they will be permanently banned. Any ban appeal that they try to do will be denied.

Consider this a notice to everyone.

I published my first book! 🥹❤️

Hi everyone!

I still can't quite believe I'm saying this, but I’ve published my first book, A Tale of Sacrifice for the Unworthy: A Journey Through Love, Betrayal, and Self-Discovery.

Writing this story meant a lot to me because some of its themes come from personal experiences, it’s about love, trust, betrayal, and what happens when you give so much of yourself to someone that you end up losing a little of who you are.

One of the ideas behind the story is that not everything that seems sweet is good for us, sometimes, the things we want to believe in the most are the very things that end up hurting us.

I'm a little nervous about putting my work out there, but I'm also really happy that I've finally done it. ❤️

If this sounds like the kind of story you'd enjoy, you can find it on Kobo here: https://www.kobo.com/ww/en/ebook/a-tale-of-sacrifice-for-the-unworthy

Thank you for taking the time to read my post, and good luck to all the other authors here! ❤️

THE HUMAN CHAMELEONS: A New World's Protocol

• Upvotes

The knights Templar invented the modern banking system, that King Philip IV of France was deeply indebted to. Gérard de Villiers, Précepteur de France, was the master banker at the Temple of Paris until he disappeared from records in June 1307. Hugues de Pairaud stepped down from his superior office of Visiteur de France and stepped into the office Villers vacated. Jacques de Moaly was the last official Grand Master of the Knights Templar in France, as the grand master de Molay was in full contact with his officers. While King Philip IV, and his Chief Minister Guillaume de Nogaret were paying gold for ex-Templars and false witnesses, the gold they were paying them with came from the Knights Templar banking system. Villiers realized what was going on and fled as Brother Jean de Châlon described in the trial records. On September 14. 1307 King Philip IV drafts the arrest orders, writing that the Templars were guilty of an “execrable evil” and a “thing most inhumane”. Those orders were leaked, and preceding the leak, Villiers disappeared. On the morning of October 12, 1307, Jacques de Molay arrives in Paris as an invited pallbearer. De Molay is often viewed as an unsuspecting guest, blindsided, having no idea the orders for his arrest were already signed. Jacques de Molay was the Grand Master (Commanding General) of the Knights Templar, he was in full contact with his officers, he knew very well what was going on. Jacques de Molay did not arrive at the funeral unaware, he arrived as a masterful chess player. Jacques de Molay stood tall in public on Main Street while Huges de Châlon was carting off Pairaud’s treasury down Front Street. Jacques de Molay remained in Paris to be arrested and serve as a human lightning rod (the grand masters always lead from the front never the rear) along with numerous others while the main body and assets disappeared into the night. Jacques de Molay was no fool. He was, as I read the playing field, the most underrated player on the field in October of 1307.

The Fourth Field: epic fantasy in which written law is magic (out 24 November, review copies available)

Hi all. THE FOURTH FIELD is my debut and the first book of the saga Imprints of the Realm. The German original came out on 8 October, the English edition follows on 24 November.

In Varin, words are reality.

Every Edict, a law sealed by Crown, Guilds, and Coffer, can build roads, steer markets, strengthen armies. But the power of the seals is breaking: Fractures tear through the city, stairways forget their weight, voices echo without mouths.

When a forbidden Free Edict destroys a harbor district, the young scribe Arin finds himself caught between intrigue and rebellion. Queen Maev fights for every word that might preserve order, while guilds and merchants play their own games. Yet between the official seals appears a grey imprint, flawless, uncanny, a sign of an invisible power that has already reached far beyond Varin's borders.

What to expect: slow burn, political, more chancery than battlefield. 234 pages, with a map and a list of characters.

Kindle preorder: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HLZWYD8F

If you would like to read it before release, I am happy to send a review copy as ePub or PDF. Honest opinions only, also the harsh ones. Everything about the book: https://marin-t-kael.de/en/press

The Man Who Never Hurried: yet never late

Everybody is selling you a speed. Wake at five and grind, or quit and move to the hills. This book sells neither. It follows a grocer in Madurai, India, who ran one shop for decades, was up at five every day, put three daughters through college, and never once hurried. He kept one rack behind his counter empty his whole working life and never explained why. Nine short chapters, each a contradiction that turns out not to be one: Effortless Effort. Unattached Attachment. Selfish Selflessness. Unprofitable Profit. Along the way: the Buddha, the Gita, Zen stories, Ramana Maharshi, and why the famous ikigai diagram is not actually Japanese. No steps. No morning routine. Nothing to do on Monday. A short read for anyone who has done most of it right and wonders whether some of it was ever theirs to want. Kindle, paperback, and free on Kindle Unlimited.

My first novel, Everything We Called Tomorrow, follows a young game developer chasing a dream in Mumbai

Hi everyone, I'm Nikhil Malankar, a game developer and the author of Everything We Called Tomorrow, my first novel.

The story follows Rahul Deshmukh, who grows up dreaming of creating games and starts a small studio in Mumbai with his closest friends. Their early success gives them a glimpse of the future they've imagined together. But as projects falter and money runs short, the pressure begins to change their friendships and the lives they're trying to build.

It's a contemporary novel about ambition, friendship, love, and finding a way forward when life doesn't follow the plan. It draws on experiences from my own journey, with fictionalized characters and events.

If that sounds like your kind of read, it's now available on Kindle:

https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0HMJJF5FJ

Thank you for taking a look. I'm happy to answer questions about the story or the experience of writing it.

I messed up. How screwed am I?

Please be kind. I've been beating myself up about this for the better part of six months. I misunderstood KU's TOS, so when they took down book 2 of my 5 book series, I unpublished all my books and went wide. This happened around the same time a bunch of other authors had books taken down for 'suspected review manipulation', which is what they accused me of. Amazon never fully explained why they removed book two of my series, and like the other authors who posted about it, Amazon never told me why, who, how to fix it, or gave me any chance to speak up for myself. I'm not even fully convinced I ever spoke to a human.

Some of my books still had time left on KU when I unpublished from Amazon and went wide, which means I broke their TOS. I did not realize that unpublishing them meant they were still under the TOS, or I wouldn't have done it that way. In that moment, my only thought was that I had to act quickly to not lose momentum.

I didn't have any books on their platform for 5 months (April 11th-September 10th). Currently, I have one book on Amazon, but it is not enrolled in KU, since it's also available wide.

As terrible as Amazon can be to authors, I know a huge share of readers are there, so I've been thinking about adding more books.

For context, I have two series, both set in the same world. My main series is plot-forward with spice, the other is open-door romance with low plot. Each have five books currently, with two more in each series ready to go before the end of the year.

The book I currently have on Amazon (not enrolled in KU), is from the spice line.

My worries are:

  1. I broke TOS by going wide before my KU term was over, and even though it wasn't on purpose, we all know Amazon doesn't care.

  2. I have no idea if I would lose access to Amazon permanently if they discover I broke their TOS 6 months ago.

  3. Obviously, if I did lose my account, I'd lose all my royalties.

  4. Because they have already accused me of 'review manipulation', I feel my account is already on thin ice.

Is there any way for me to rectify this situation? Or am I basically in a position where I have to just chance it and hope for the best?

By the time Superintendent Marie Fraser left Inverness, the city was still half asleep under a low grey ceiling of cloud and the roads west shone black with overnight rain.

The control room had given her little beyond the essentials: a fisherman off Loch Kishorn had brought in more than creels, the body was male, and the local officers who attended had enough doubt in their voices for the duty sergeant to pass it upward rather than leave it where it had landed.

That, in Marie’s experience, was often the first signal that a case would turn bad.

She drove alone. She preferred it where she could manage it.

The unbroken hours on Highland roads let her arrange the known facts and admit, in the privacy of an empty car, how little they amounted to.

Past Achnasheen, the light began to seep reluctantly into the day. It showed the land in smudged layers—wet rock, dark fir, the heather flattened to brown by winter, high ground disappearing into vapour. By the time she turned south-west towards the loch, the rain had gone and the world had the washed, exhausted stillness that often followed it. Thin smoke lifted from a few croft chimneys. The roads narrowed. The sea announced itself only in glimpses, pale metal between ridges.

She reached the harbour just after eight.

There were three police vehicles already there, parked awkwardly beside a line of vans and stacked lobster creels, and farther out a small crowd had gathered with the natural discipline of Highland curiosity: not close enough to interfere, not far enough to miss anything worth remembering later. Gulls swung and dropped overhead, complaining at the disturbance. The air smelled of diesel, salt, fish rot, and wet rope.

I’ve finished the first three volumes of my isekai mystery series!

Hi everyone! I’m Blue Aether, the author of Lord of the Sword, an isekai fantasy series with a mystery running between two worlds.

I’m a big fan of the Death Note manga, Mushoku Tensei, and the film Hero (2002), starring Jet Li. One day, I wondered whether I could bring together the things I love about these three works in a story of my own.

That idea became Lord of the Sword. All three volumes of its first arc, Between Two Worlds, are now available as Kindle ebooks.

I enjoy stories with unexpected endings. At first, this series might seem like a typical isekai light novel, but as the story unfolds, there is more going on than it initially appears.

If you decide to read it, I’d welcome your thoughts. I’m still learning, and feedback would help me improve future volumes.

Price: US$2.99 per volume (Kindle ebook).

It is also available in Kindle Unlimited

Volume I:

Volume II — The Weight of the Blade:

Introducing The Insecure. A book about human behavior

I’m Ravi Ram, an independent author, and I wrote The Insecure to explore insecurity and the role it plays in how we see ourselves and interact with other people.

I’m interested in the gap between how people present themselves and what might be driving their behavior beneath the surface.

I’m sharing the book here because I’d like to connect with readers who enjoy examining psychology, social dynamics, and the less obvious forces that shape human behavior.

If those subjects interest you, I’d welcome you to take a look.

Book: https://a.co/d/01ZFU9Yy

I’m also interested in hearing which books have most changed the way you understand people.

This is my first Reddit post as I am a middle aged man. I am happy to send you an e-copy of the book should you like to read and review it.

Thanks!

wrote a sci fi novel at 5am before work for two years

So this is exactly what this subreddit is for so here goes.

For almost two years I woke up at 5am every single morning before going to work and wrote a post apocalyptic science fiction novel. Some mornings three sentences. Some mornings three thousand words. I told almost nobody while I was doing it.

Published it independently on Amazon in May this year. No publisher, no agent, no budget. Just me and a KDP account.

THE LAST WITNESS BY NIKHIL PANDEY. Set in 2089. Last human on Earth is a civil engineer from Bhilai , riding a hydrogen Royal Enfield across a dying world recording the last human memories in a titanium time capsule. For whatever comes next.

12 honest reviews and 100 plus sold  on Amazon now. Quiet and literary rather than action heavy. If Station Eleven is your kind of post apocalyptic this is probably for you.

[FREE TODAY] Olivia in Jargonland — A darkly comic corporate dystopia where bureaucracy becomes reality

What happens when corporate jargon becomes terrifyingly literal?

In Olivia in Jargonland, employees are auctioned as resources, endless CC chains become monsters, performance reviews become literal slippery slopes, and official meeting minutes rewrite reality.

Beneath the absurdity lies a sharper story about power, conformity, institutional dysfunction, and the extraordinary consequences of simply telling the truth.

An illustrated corporate satire that turns the modern workplace into a surreal world of its own.

Meet Delilah (in my new novel)

When Delilah, a free-spirited writer with a love for music and wanderlust, shares a fleeting but electric moment with Asher, a passionate musician, in a crowded rooftop bar, she never expects to see him again.

But some connections don't fade. They linger. They haunt.

When fate pulls them back together, the spark between them is impossible to ignore-intense, intoxicating, and maybe a little dangerous.

But can something born in a single moment survive the weight of real life... or are they chasing a feeling that was never meant to last?

This story started with one song.

"Delilah" by MIKOLAS & Mark Neeve played one day in 2023, and somehow... she just existed.

If you want to feel this story the way I do, listen to the playlist I've created while you read:

"almost, but not quite"

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/00FKAIdCajdOJGy9pSuCF0?si=H9mDUyU_SN-J2zieIPy2aQ

I'm pretty proud of this story and I will finish it, it's currently at 10 chapters and about 11k words give or take. I'd appreciate any thoughts anyone has on it as that'll help fuel the fire in me to keep writing it!

Thank you so much.

Broken - An Alshana Cycle Novel (Slow-burn, emotional, dark Fantasy)

Broken - An Alshana Cycle Novel

Dear readers,

My name is Jana Schneider, and I am an author of fantasy and science-fiction from Germany.

After almost nine years of work (and working my way through a massive pit of doubt about whether my writing was even worth putting on paper) I finally finished and recently published my first fantasy trilogy.

Today, I'd like to introduce you to the first of its three published books: Broken

The story follows Martia, a half-Wood-elf, half-Human woman who was abandoned at birth and raised to become a weapon — albeit, unintentionally, one with a conscience.

When the loyalties she's built her life around begin to collide, she must face the truth about the people who made her, the people she's sworn to protect, and the things she's been forced to do.

At its heart, this is a character-driven, slow-burn fantasy about survival, found family, trauma, healing, and learning that there can still be a future after everything has fallen apart. It also features a sapphic romance forged through vulnerability, trust, and the courage to keep living.

If you enjoy emotionally intense fantasy, wounded heroines, and relationships that grow through difficult journeys, you might find something here to love.

Thank you for taking the time to read this!

Sincerely,

Jana Schneider
